Today, we had the privilege of visiting the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board (YSUBEB) for a strategic meeting focused on collaboration and strengthening basic education in Yobe State.
Our discussion centered on partnership opportunities and seeking support for educational material assistance under our Mission 2026 initiative. We strongly believe that sustainable progress in education can only be achieved through collective effort and institutional collaboration.
We appreciate the warm reception and the opportunity to align our vision with the Board’s mandate to improve access, equity, and quality of basic education.
Together, we can support more children, especially the vulnerable and out-of-school, with the resources they need to succeed.

Yobe Care for Orphans and Less Privileged Education Initiative (YOCOLEI) is a community-based non-profit organization committed to supporting orphans and underprivileged children who are out of school.
YOCOLEI connects donors, partners, and government agencies with vulnerable children by providing educational materials, sponsorship opportunities, and advocacy programs to ensure that every child has access to quality education and a brighter future.

“When you educate the child of the poor, you are protecting the future of your own child.”
Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a child who wants to learn but cannot afford a notebook. A child who dreams of becoming a doctor, teacher, or engineer but is forced to stay at home because there is no school fee, no uniform, no support.
Now imagine what happens when that dream dies.
An uneducated child today can become a frustrated youth tomorrow. But an educated child becomes a solution, a protector, a builder of society. When we lift the children of the poor through education, we are not doing charity — we are securing our communities, strengthening our nation, and protecting the future of our own children.
This is why Yobe Care for Orphans and Less Privilege Education Initiative (YOCOLEI) exists.
YOCOLEI is committed to giving vulnerable children access to education, hope, and dignity. But we cannot do it alone. Every school fee paid, every book donated, every uniform provided is a life redirected toward purpose instead of despair.

our commitment to child protection is one of our top priorities and on 13 January 2026 we got the privilege to attend monthly child protection meeting which we share relevant information for development of protection of child and also collaborate together to achieve our common goals

Our organization identifies orphans and less privileged children who are out of school and connects them with donors to sponsor their education. We work with private individuals, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, intergovernmental bodies, and all partners willing to support access to quality education.
