MY BODY, MY CHOICE, MY FUTURE

We had an AMAZING seminar today, empowering young girls with knowledge about their bodies, future prospects, vision, health, hygiene, and the importance of staying true to their values! 🙌 We talked about the dangers of early pregnancy and how to make wise choices that'll help them live purposeful lives.

By equipping these girls with these essential life skills, we're shaping future leaders, wonderful mothers, and amazing wives! 💪 The future is bright, and it's all about catching them young and inspiring them to soar.
We wrapped up the day by summarizing key takeaways, sharing gifts, and distributing essential materials 💕 Love isn't just a verb, it's an action word - let's keep spreading it

THE BLACK VOICE

From the fallopian tube of abysmal pain, I was born,
under the twilight of the dark moon, reborn into a world of sorrow and tears.
behind my smile, I endure gargantuan suffering and silent agony,
of my forefathers, as life-force ebbs away, perhaps my skin a bane to me.

I'm an episode of pain and a memory of a rancorous past,
maybe born in the wrong place, a black child inhabiting an old soul,
I battle with torment, torture, grieve, and series of losses.

Every night I fight with demons, lurking in my mind,
frightened by nightmares of reality and uncertainty,
I'm an African child, forgotten by time and space,
sipping mucus and nibbling sand.

Here I stand, on the eve of Halloween night,
dancing to the nocturnal tempo of hunger,
roaring in my cavernous belly, my eyes swollen with a sudden seizure of pain,
kwashiorkor preys on my flesh, exposing emaciated bones.

I still dare to dream, even when skies aren't blue,
and the rainbow hides behind shades of cloud.
Every day unfolds an invitation to take life on,
I strive for survival, sailing through torrential downpour,
Seeking a panacea to cure my troubled soul.

The vibrant streets of Nigeria are home to a concerning number of children who have been forced to trade their childhoods for survival. These street children face unimaginable challenges, from poverty and abuse to exploitation and neglect. However, amidst these struggles, a beacon of hope shines bright. Empowering children, teenagers, and young adults to reach their full potential, breaking cycles of poverty, illiteracy, and violence through support, guidance, and mentorship.

About Us
LEYFI is a registered NGO advocating for and empowering disadvantaged children. We strive to create a brighter future by:

1. Providing essential services (healthcare, nutrition, shelter)
2. Fostering emotional well-being (counseling, therapy)
3. Promoting education (literacy programs, scholarships)
4. Empowerment through skills acquisition (vocational training, entrepreneurship)

Through four major outreaches in Calabar (South-South) and Kano (North-West), we've positively impacted street children, bridging the geographical divide and fostering national unity. Our strategic outreach efforts aim to balance support across Nigeria's geopolitical zones, ensuring equitable access to essential services for vulnerable children. By covering both Southern and Northern Nigeria, we demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity and national development. Looking ahead, we plan to expand our initiatives to additional states, deepening our impact and creating a brighter future for more children. Join us in our mission to empower young lives, break cycles of poverty, and build a stronger Nigeria.

Registration History:

Lead and Elevate the Young Future Initiative has achieved remarkable milestones during its pre-registration phase.

- Initially registered under the Ministry of Women Affairs, Cross River State, Calabar.
- Upgraded registration by registering under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), solidifying our commitment to transparency and accountability.

A CRY FOR HELP: EMPOWERING FORGOTTEN CHILDREN

In a world filled with darkness, we're a beacon of hope for disadvantaged children. They've endured unbearable pain, loss, and suffering. Their innocent eyes have witnessed trauma, their young hearts heavy with sorrow.

Their belly consumed with hunger, their future uncertain. They've been robbed of their childhood, forced to face realities no child should ever know.

We're their last resort, their only hope. We provide:

Counseling to heal their wounds
Education to enlighten their minds
Talent development to nurture their dreams
Rescue from the clutches of crime and street life

But we can't do it alone. We need your support to bring light into their lives.
