Today, we reviewed our 2025 financial account for ABBA’s hands foundation and sent out appreciation letters and financial summary reports to all donors, those we could reach.

It was humbling what God accomplished through the hands and hearts that were stirred to give. A lot of those who received our end-of-the-year appreciation letters were surprised wondering how much it was that they donated but honestly, we could not have done anything without the many N1000s. We only acted as a conduit to get these support to the needed lives, and that is truly a privilege and an honour that we do not take for granted.

We receive the thanks and see the tears of joy and appreciation from the children and families that we stand beside as they fight childhood cancers but the true heroes, the real MVPs are YOU. You who give. You who share our charity posts. You who mention us to kings, institutions and corporations. God bless you.

As we round up 2025, the new year has already started for us; unfortunately cancers do not know that the year has ended or that this is holiday season. We look forward to partnering and collaborating with more people and corporations in 2026.

God bless you and Merry Christmas 🎄

P.S: We would really love to reach everyone who donated to the foundation this year. We have all the letters prepared already but there are a few names none of us can trace. Please if you transferred any money at all, be it N1000 or N1m and you have not received our appreciation letter, I will be glad if you can reach us inbox 🙏🏾

And the word became flesh and dwelt among us! John 1:14
Such hope! Such great story! Such love!

And they shall call his name Immanuel (God is with us). A comforting tale! An assurance of his love!

It is Christmas.

It is our reminder of God's deep love, HIS presence every bit of the way and HIS salvation for all mankind.

May this season bring joy, happiness, laughter, faith, hope, peace to you and yours.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Abba's Hands Foundation to you and yours.

It's 5 days to Christmas and 11 days to 2026.

If I had a shopping list, it would be
10 cannulas
A Box of gloves
A Blood donation
3 paid blood test
Some children activity pack
X-rays
And of course settled bills at accounts department for my little patients.

What one act would make your shopping list pop?

It's 6 days to Christmas and 12 days to 2026.

I collapse into the nearby chair, quite tired.

It has been one activity after another. I am checking prescriptions, making sure there is enough medicine for the festive period, chasing up on blood work, barking orders yet, trying to spread some cheer around, though our ward looks gloomy.

I stand, look around.

The decorations look out of place, as if trying to silence the words we don't say.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, I say to the next child. The parents don't say much. They avoid my eyes.
I know that look, that fear of believing tomorrow will come.

It is 12 days to 2026, and I am hoping I don't hear another child say, 'Dr, is the cancer back?'

I pick up my stethoscope, put on my best smile and walk to the next bed 'Merry Christmas and a happy New Year' I say.

I wake up, and I am covered in sweat! Today it's a good day to spread some good cheer.

Free today? Come join me and spread some cheer in the hospital ward!

It's 7 days to Christmas and 13 sleeps to 2026!

One thing that has made me smile is definitely the celebration party for our survivors.

It was a reminder of the power of community, the beauty of hope, and the strength that lies in putting one foot in front of the other.

What is your perfect 2025 moment?

It's 8 more days to Christmas and 14 days to 2026.

Miracles are the little things. . .

The blood count that comes back surprisingly normal.

The cancer survivor who can give us a toothy smile and a firm handshake.

The parent who walks to the account office and makes a deposit.

The blood sample that is sufficient to run all the tests we want.

Miracles are the big things. . .

The child who rings the bell at the end of cancer treatment.

The champion who, years later, is still cancer-free.

The ones who chose to fight cancer, the one we raise funds for treatment or ongoing care.

Miracles come in quiet things as well. . .

The little champions who no longer walk the earth but whom we had the honour of meeting, the ones who looked challenging times in the face and let us hold their hands through it!

Miracles come in people!

This community is one of our Christmas miracles.

Thank you for your donations.

It is 9 more days to Christmas and 15 more sleeps to 2026!

The days have run so quickly!

We knew 2025 would be a great year, but one thing we didn’t count on was the gift of you!

Your support has made a difference in the lives of the kids we care for and continues to inspire hope.

You make our community complete, and you have been here side by side with us, delivering care to children with cancer.

You have shared our passion to help, and some of you have said a prayer to make our work easier, while others have sent in donations!

It's 9 more days to Christmas, and though we may spend the day in the hospital tending to our bravest children putting up a fight against cancer, we are grateful because your support enables our little acts of love to reach more children and achieve more!

What are you grateful for?

It’s so amazing what we are all creating.

It’s like a symphony. Just keep listening, and pretty soon you’d start to figure out your part.

Everyone plays a piece. And there are melodies in each one of us.

It’s glorious (in God).

Throw back to the last bell-ringing ceremony we partnered for some of our Paediatric cancer beneficiaries.

Management of childhood cancer? It take a village.

Physicians. Nurses. Lab personnel. Surgeons. Pharmacists. Donors. Family. Funders. Friends. Clergy. Counselors. Therapists. ABBA’s hands foundation .

Everyone plays a piece. And when each one of us brings her A-game, one more child is given a chance to fight one more day.

Your gift goes a long way.

❤️❤️❤️

Many times, we have cancers co-existing with other chronic diseases like tuberculosis. This is because the primary cancer weakens the body making it prime to latent infections like TB.

So cancers like the lymphomas are frequently misdiagnosed as just TB by the first port-of-call healthcare providers, which in Nigeria are rarely physicians. Chemists, maternity homes, health centers sadly manned by CHEWs, sometimes jCHEWs see many sick persons first. Not forgetting churches and traditional healers.

Even when primary physicians see and a diagnosis of TB is confirmed, it is tempting to run with that especially in the face of financial constraints to investigate further for malignancies.

This initial 'misdiagnosis', if you may, further delays appropriate treatment and worsens prognosis. Such that by the time a specialist is reviewing, precious time is already lost and the fight of the child Vs cancer becomes more grim.

What am I even saying? I don't know. It's just that 9 year old Silver's life hangs on the balance currently as she battles both lymphoma and TB complicated by a gross lack of funds. She has not even begun any treatment for the lymphoma because money no dey. And every minute counts, in this case, against her unfortunately.

N.B: in cases of primary TB, the patient should start showing signs of improvement within days of commencing anti TB drugs. If there is no clinical improvement at the end of the first week, biko investigate further or refer higher, TB might just be a secondary.

Christmas is in the air.

It’s a time of giving.

Do consider giving to ABBA’s hands foundation this season🙏🏾

Your help goes a long way in helping a child fight cancer for one more day.

It gives a child another shot at life.

It keeps one more child in school.

Thank you very much.
