💜 Every Girl Deserves the Freedom to Choose Her Future

A girl's future should be shaped by her dreams, not by child marriage, poverty, or circumstances beyond her control.

Today, as we celebrate International Day of the Girl Child, the 2026 theme, “End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights!”, reminds us that every girl deserves protection, education, opportunity, and a voice in decisions that shape her future.

At Ebony & Ivory Empowerment Foundation, we believe that education is one of the most powerful ways to empower girls, expand their opportunities, and help them build the futures they deserve.

For the 2026/2027 academic year, 12 girls are currently benefiting from our educational scholarship programme, receiving support to continue their education and pursue their dreams. 📚💜

But our vision goes far beyond these 12 girls.

We remain committed to reaching more girls, breaking down barriers to education, and creating opportunities for girls in underserved communities to learn, grow, lead, and thrive.

Because every girl deserves more than a dream. She deserves the opportunity to make it a reality.

On this International Day of the Girl Child, we reaffirm our commitment to investing in girls, protecting their rights, and supporting a future where every girl has the freedom to choose her own path.

BACK TO SCHOOL 2026: 12 Girls. 12 Scholarships. One Commitment to Their Future. 💜

As students returned to school last week, Ebony & Ivory Empowerment Foundation marked the new academic year by renewing and expanding our commitment to girls’ education.

Following the strong academic performance of the 10 girls we supported in 2025/2026 at Noble Joy Int’l School in Akwa Ibom State, we renewed their scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year, committing ₦450,000 to support their education throughout the session.

And our scholarship family has grown. 💜

Also, in the 2026/2027 academic year, we awarded two additional scholarships to girls who demonstrated exceptional academic performance—one student at Church of God Mission School in Akwa Ibom State and another at Ebony and Ivory International Schools in Calabar, Cross River State.

This marks an exciting milestone for our scholarship programme as we expand into Cross River State and welcome our first scholar in Calabar. 💜

That brings the number of girls supported through our scholarship programme in the 2026/2027 academic year to 12. 🎓

For us, Back to School is more than returning to the classroom. It is about ensuring that these girls, empowered by EBONY AND IVORY FOUNDATION, have the opportunity to stay in school, keep learning and continue building their futures.

September is here, and for us at Ebony & Ivory Empowerment Foundation, this month is about one thing: helping more girls get into school—and helping those already there stay in school. 🎒📚

As schools reopen, we are continuing our commitment to the girls whose education we currently support, ensuring that financial challenges do not interrupt the progress they have already made.

But we don't want to stop there.

This September, we are also working to extend educational support to more girls who need an opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future.

For the girls already under our educational support, our commitment continues. For the new girls we hope to welcome, a new journey is about to begin. 💜

Throughout the month, we will be sharing more from our Back-to-School Initiative as we provide school support and help as many girls as our resources will allow.

Because sometimes, changing a girl's future begins with something as simple—and as important—as making sure she can go to school. 🌱

💜 Stories of Hope | Part 2: What Comes Next for Destiny?

Getting Destiny and her baby home was important. But we knew our intervention couldn't end there.

After reuniting 21-year-old Destiny and her two-month-old baby with her family, our team sat down with her to listen—not just to what she had been through, but to what she wanted for her future.

Destiny told us that she had to stop school after SS2 because her mother could no longer afford her school fees. After leaving school, she remained at home without the opportunity to continue her education, learn a skill, or engage in any meaningful training. It was during this period that she became pregnant.

Today, Destiny hopes to return to school someday. But for now, she wants an opportunity to learn a skill that can help her become self-reliant and provide for herself and her child.

When we asked what she would like to learn, her answer was clear: hairdressing and the skills that come with it.

And we listened. 💜

Because empowerment isn't simply stepping in during a crisis. It is helping someone find a pathway forward.

For Destiny, getting home was the first step. Now, the journey toward rebuilding her future begins.

Her story isn't ending with what happened to her. We're looking forward to seeing what Destiny can build from here.🌱

💜 Stories of Hope | Part 1: Destiny's Journey Begins

Sometimes, hope begins with simply showing up.

On 2 August, Ebony & Ivory Empowerment Foundation stepped in to reunite 21-year-old Destiny and her two-month-old baby with their family after they had remained at a traditional birth attendant's home because the family could not afford the outstanding discharge bill.

While Destiny cared for her newborn, her mother worked tirelessly to raise the money needed to bring her daughter and grandchild home. Despite her efforts, the family simply could not raise the amount.

We couldn't change what Destiny had already been through, but we could help change what happened next.

Our team settled the outstanding bill, reunited Destiny and her baby with her family, and provided immediate support to help them begin again.

At Ebony & Ivory Empowerment Foundation, we believe that every girl and young woman deserves dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to rebuild her future.

This is only the beginning of Destiny's journey, and we look forward to sharing the next chapter with you. 💜

🎤 Laughter. Learning. Smiles. Impact.

Sometimes, creating impact starts with a simple question.

We visited a local market in Calabar, Cross River State, to connect with girls and women in our community through fun trivia, meaningful conversations, and cash prizes for those who answered correctly. It was a beautiful reminder that learning can be fun, confidence can be built through engagement, and small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact.

At Ebony & Ivory Empowerment Foundation, we believe that empowerment comes in many forms—and sometimes, it begins with a conversation, a smile, or an opportunity to learn something new.

This is just the beginning. We look forward to bringing you more community challenges, educational games, and outreach activities that empower, inspire, and put smiles on people's faces.
