🦯 GIVING OUR STUDENTS A VOICE, A PLATFORM AND A CHANCE TO SHINE

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, we will join the world in celebrating International White Cane Day under the theme:

“Promoting Independence, Inclusion and Equal Access for Persons Who Are Blind.”

As we prepare for this important celebration, we are not only teaching our visually impaired students about the significance of the white cane—we are also encouraging them to think, express themselves and speak confidently about the issues that affect their lives.

At the Braille Centre, our students have been challenged to write an essay on this year’s theme. The essays will be reviewed by a panel, and the best essay will be selected and rewarded. 📝🏆

But there is something even more exciting—the winning student will have the opportunity to read the essay aloud during the main celebration in the presence of dignitaries and invited guests.

This is more than an essay competition.

It is an opportunity for our students to discover their voices, build confidence and remind everyone that being visually impaired does not limit one’s ability to think, learn, contribute or lead.

We believe that when young minds are given the right opportunities, their voices can inspire change.

Let the ideas flow.

🎉 A NEW CHAPTER FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED PERSONS! 🎉

The commissioning was a huge success! ❤️

Today, we witnessed the official commissioning of the Resource Center for Persons Living with Visual Impairment—a remarkable milestone in creating greater opportunities for learning, rehabilitation, skills development and independence.

We are deeply grateful to Lions Clubs International, Leo District 404A2, Nigeria, for making this vision a reality under the leadership of Leo Joyce Eduebuk, 100%P, LAH, NLEF, District President, 2025/2026 Service Year.

We also appreciate Senator Prof. Odey Esq., the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Cross River State, for commissioning this important facility.

For the members of Living Above Limitation Charity Foundation, this is more than a building. It is a place where potential will be nurtured, skills will be developed, confidence will grow, and lives will be transformed.

We celebrate everyone whose support, commitment and generosity brought this project to completion.

The journey continues. The vision is alive. And together, we are creating opportunities for ability to shine beyond limitation. 💙

The Rehabilitation Centre for the Visually Impaired

A new chapter is beginning in the lives of visually impaired persons in our community.

Living Above Limitation Charity Foundation (LALCF) is honoured to invite you to the Official Commissioning Ceremony of the Leo District 404A2 Core Project – the Rehabilitation Centre for the Visually Impaired.

📍 Venue: Special Education School, No. 78 Ibom Layout, Calabar

🕛 Time: 12:00 noon

This facility represents more than a building. It is a space for learning, rehabilitation, independence, skills development and renewed opportunities for visually impaired persons.

We invite our members, families, friends, supporters, partners and the general public to join us as we witness and celebrat this significant milestone.

Today, our students confidently read Braille passages prepared by their instructor, Dr. Mrs. Flora Usang.

Behind every word read is dedication, practice, and progress. As their fingers moved across the pages, they demonstrated growing confidence, independence, and the power of Braille literacy.

Every page read is a step toward greater opportunity and self-reliance.
