Young Men’s Network Against SGBV is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of our “Pledge for Protection” initiative!

This milestone was made possible through strategic collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River State Command, and the Department for Gender Mainstreaming, Cross River State.

Implemented within the framework of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the activity underscores the importance of institutional accountability and collective action in safeguarding communities—both offline and in digital spaces.

Anchored in this year’s global theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls,” the pledges undertaken by NSCDC officers and our partners reflect a strong, multi-sectoral commitment to advancing protection mechanisms and ensuring safer environments for all citizens.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the leadership and dedicated teams of the NSCDC and the Cross River State Department of Gender Mainstreaming for their partnership and solidarity in driving this impactful initiative forward.

The Emerging Genderplus Outreach Team (EGOT) and the Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) have been actively working to address Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) and Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in the remote forest communities of Cross River State, Nigeria.
Through a series of initiatives, including workshops and dialogues, they have been successful in:
* Developing Community Byelaws: Creating local laws to protect women and girls from child marriage, domestic violence, and gender discrimination.
* Raising Awareness: Educating young people about gender equality, human rights, and harmful gender stereotypes.
* Fostering Dialogue: Bringing together people of different ages to discuss and address issues related to CEFM and SGBV.
These efforts are part of a larger project aimed at strengthening women's rights and ending violence against women and girls in Nigeria. By combining legal interventions, awareness-raising, and community engagement, EGOT and NWTF are working to create a safer and more equitable future for women and girls in these remote communities.
