On December 23, 2024, Quadri Ahmed, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of BAAF, participated at the 1-Day State-Level Protection Sector Working Group Meeting in Makurdi, Benue State.

Key highlights included discussions on critical protection issues affecting vulnerable populations, presentation of last quarter of 2024 activity reports by member organizations, and review and adoption of updated Terms of Reference (ToR) as the official working document.

The meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening coordination and advancing protection-focused interventions in Benue State. BAAF remains committed to supporting collaborative efforts that ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of affected communities in the state.

BAAF, in collaboration with Caritas Nigeria, held a community dialogue with refugees, encouraging them to embrace productivity and learn valuable skills to improve their current situation.

After the insightful session, BAAF distributed vital IEC materials to support and encourage them.

On the 15th day of the 16-Days Activism Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, the Ortese IDPs Camp in Guma LGA, Benue State, came alive with vibrant cultural expressions and powerful acts of solidarity.

The event celebrated the resilience and strength of young girls and women in the camp. Through mesmerizing cultural performances, they showcased their rich heritage and reminded us all of the unyielding spirit within them despite the challenges they face.

As part of the activities, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu Foundation (BAAF) distributed dignity kits to lactating mothers and teenage girls. These kits are more than just essential supplies—they symbolize care, dignity, and support, helping to meet the unique needs of women and girls in humanitarian settings.

This initiative reflects our shared commitment to breaking the cycle of violence, ensuring no voice goes unheard, and empowering women and girls to reclaim their dignity.

Together, we can create a world where safety, equality, and dignity are the norm for all women and girls.

Honorable commissioner of women affairs, Hon Edema Irom inspecting BAAF dignity kits. The kits consist of sanitary pads for nursing mothers and girls, baby oil, baby wipes, disinfectant and pant liners. These dignity kits will be shared to mothers and teenage girls
