The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Prof. Stephen Odey, received the Initiative for the Upliftment of Disabled Persons (IFUDIP) during a courtesy visit in Calabar. The organization sought the Ministry’s approval and partnership to establish a vocational skills centre for children and young people with disabilities.

IFUDIP explained that the centre will equip persons with disabilities with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills to promote independence, self-employment, and inclusive development.

The Commissioner praised the initiative as timely and impactful, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive education, and expressed willingness to support the proposal while considering the necessary approval process.

On the special Children’s Day, we proudly launched the Beacon Hill Child Development and Vocational Education Program for children with disabilities.

The day was more than an event, it was a celebration of ability, potential, inclusion, and hope. It was a reaffirmation of our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their challenges, has access to opportunities that help them learn, grow, develop skills, and thrive.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters whose dedication and hard work made this launch a success.
