The Supervisors of Bonny Local Government Council have commended and honoured the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, for his outstanding leadership and remarkable achievements in office.

In recognition of his giant strides in infrastructure development, effective governance, and community service, the Supervisors unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence on the Chairman and presented him with an Award of Excellence for his dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Bonny Local Government Area.

The honour reflects the Supervisors' acknowledgment of the Chairman's impactful leadership and the significant progress recorded under his administration. His efforts in advancing infrastructural development, promoting good governance, and enhancing community welfare have continued to earn commendation from stakeholders across the local government area.
The event further underscored the Council's appreciation of his visionary leadership, transformative initiatives, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. It also reaffirmed the Supervisors' continued support for his administration's developmental agenda and collective efforts toward building a more prosperous Bonny Kingdom.

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Engr. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, has directed the ban of all forms of trading at the entrance of the Bonny Ultra Modern Market with immediate effect.

This measure is aimed at ensuring orderliness, free access, environmental sanitation, and public safety. All traders are therefore directed to conduct their business only within designated spaces inside the market.

Any person found trading at the market entrance will be arrested, and their goods confiscated.

The Leaders and Executives of the Bonny Ultra Modern Market Association are directed to ensure full compliance by its members.

The Chairman also reiterates that the suspension of all market taxes, levies, and revenue collection by the Local Government Council, as announced on 13th November 2025, remains in force. Any person found collecting unauthorized fees or gate charges from traders will be arrested.

The Chief Security Officer of Bonny LGA, Warisenibo Hon. Prince Christy-Wilcox, and the Council's Surveillance Team are hereby directed to enforce this directive.

As part of its oversight responsibilities and commitment to enhancing effective service delivery within Bonny Local Government Area, the Leader of the Bonny Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo, today led members of the Legislature on an concluding inspection visit to the Bonny Fire Service Station.

The visit was undertaken to assess the operational status of the station, evaluate available facilities and equipment, and review the level of emergency preparedness

During the inspection, the legislative delegation was received by the Supervisor for Works Engr. God'swill Hart who provided relevant information regarding the current condition of the station and available resources The delegation also conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the infrastructure and equipment available at the station.

The inspection forms part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to strengthening public safety institutions and ensuring that critical emergency response facilities receive the attention necessary to function effectively in the interest of residents.

Earlier in it's sitting, the Bonny Legislative Council has reaffirmed it's commitment to a Public Hearing on the Bonny Fire Station and Emergency Response Bill to provide stakeholders, relevant agencies, community representatives, and members of the public the opportunity to contribute to discussions on issues relating to fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the future of fire service operations within the Local Government Area.

In a bid to ensure public security, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government, Amasenibo Hon. Engr. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, has directed the prohibition of motorcycle (Okada) operations along the Bonny-Bodo Road, especially to nearby villages along the highway.

This directive is effective immediately.

The Nigeria Police, Bonny and Finima Division, along with all security agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), are hereby directed to enforce this ban.

Any motorcycle (Okada) found plying the Bonny-Bodo Road at any given time of the day will be impounded in accordance with this directive.

📸 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 – including photographers, videographers.

✂️ 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 – to edit and package videos for social media and publicity.

📢 📣 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀/𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 – volunteers who help disseminate and amplify official content by sharing it across their personal social media platforms.
