Meet the South South Zone Secretary General of NISAYA

Hon. Torlowei Samuel David

The definition of humility is Hon. Torlowei Samuel David. A decent individual with a known experience in events management, entertainment, making of Pastries, baking all types of cakes and entrepreneurship. He was born and raised in Benin City, Edo State.

His educational background are:
Primary: Payne Primary School
Secondary: Edokplor Grammar School
University of Benin: BSC Banking and Finance.

He was into the leadership at the grassroots level in conjunction with the the National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Edo State chapter via the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria Christian Parliamilitary Organization as the Director of Benin East Association and pioneer Director Royal Ambassadors Uyiosa Baptist Association Edo State.

He was SSA to H.E Godwin Obaseki former Governor of Edo State even when he was in the opposition party his relevance was needed to impact directly to his locality by the ruling party. He is currently SSA to the Speaker of Edo State House Of Assembly.

In the political space he was the former councilorship candidate of the Labour Party Oredo Ward 06 at the 2023 Local Government Elections, a former Financial Secretary of Labour Party Oredo LGA. Currently he is amongst the leadership of the APC Oredo Ward 06 and the pioneer Local Organizing Committee Chairman of the just concluded Oredo Ward 06 Football Zonal Tournaments 2025.

Meet the south south coordinator of NISAYA

Hon. EKWE David is a distinguished youth leader, public servant, entrepreneur, and policy advocate from cross river state Calabar, he was born and raised in Edo state, Benin city. He previously served as Senior Special Adviser to the former Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obseki and is currently the South-South Zonal Coordinator of the Nigerian Students and Youth Association (NISAYA).

He recently represented youths at the 2026 Youth UN Water Conference in Senegal, demonstrating his commitment to sustainable development and youth engagement in global water policy.

A former Majority Leader and Speaker of the Student Union Government (SUG) at the College of Education, he has consistently demonstrated strategic leadership and advocacy for youth empowerment. He is also an influential youth leader in Edo sate.

Academically, he studied Biology and Integrated Science, holds qualifications in Business Administration, and is currently advancing his expertise in Advanced Data Analysis.

Beyond public service, he is the CEO of Mr. Food Tropical Kitchen, showcasing his entrepreneurial strength and passion for culinary excellence. A devoted church member and instrumentalist, he balances leadership with faith and creativity.

The leadership of the Nigerian Students and Youth Association (NISAYA), South South Zone, proudly commends the recent global recognition accorded to our association through the official invitation extended to the Zonal Coordinator, South South Zone, Hon. David Ekwe, by the United Nations.

Hon. David Ekwe has been invited to participate in the Preparatory Meeting of the High-Level United Nations Water Conference 2026, a development that clearly reflects the growing relevance, credibility, and impact of NISAYA within both national and international spaces.

Although the Zonal Coordinator will be joining the meeting via a virtual platform, this invitation remains a significant milestone for NISAYA. It underscores the importance of youth participation in global conversations and highlights the immense opportunities the association provides in opening doors for its members across various sectors.

NISAYA LEADERSHIP IN ABUJA, HOLD STRATEGIC MEETING WITH SENATE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN ON ETHICS PRIVILEGES AND PUBLIC PETITION AT THE SENATE HOUSE AS THEY BEGIN NATIONWIDE ADVOCACY FOR YOUTHS AND STUDENT DEVELOPMENT.

In pursuit for youths and students development in Nigeria, some leaders of NISAYA from the national, regional and state level have begin a nation wide reach out to the federal government, advocating for youth inclusiveness in leadership, scholership, partnership, sponsorship, employment, respect for freedom of speech and human right amongst others.

NISAYA's core mandate as a body responsible for both youths and students of Nigeria is to see a progressive working society where youths thrive in all their endeavors.

It's on this note that they paid a courtesy visit to the chairman Senate committee on ethics privileges and public petitions, distinguished Sen. Neda Bernard Imasuen and other distinguished senators at the red chambers of the national assembly complex to discuss all of this issues and chat ways forward towards accomplishing this goals and abjectives.

Speaking, the national secretary general of NISAYA Comr. Francis Chinecherem Joseph, told the senator of the recent police brutality against one Nigerian youths who was killed in Sweden, in which he informed him that they have since started investigation through reaching out to the family and their lawyers, and making effort to reach out to the sweden embassy in Abuja to provide the officer who perpetuated this grievous act to allow him face the full wrath of the law and compensation paid to the family of the deceased.

The south south deputy coordinator and former Director of student and youth project, national, NISAYA. Amb. Terry Prince Osemwengie told the senator of the overall aims and objectives of NISAYA and that the organisation is in the 36 states of the federation including Abuja, stating that the core mandate of the association is to represent the general interest and development of youths and students in Nigeria which need the sincere support, collaboration and funding from federal government.

He appeal for the inclusion of NISAYA into the ministry of youth or that relevant agencies annual budget, he went further to inform Senator Imasuen of the ongoing project tag the south south NISAYA educational outreach initiative where distribution of educational material has since commence since mid last year in the south south zone, stating that 200 secondary, primary schools and 35 universities would be receiving distribution of educational materials and sanitary pads, Furthermore, Amb Osemwengie appeal for support and collaborations from the federal government and well meaning Nigerians.

Also speaking, Comrade Esther Iluhorlor,
National Director, External Affairs NISAYA. Said that nisaya is not just an association but an embodiment of over 100 million Nigerian youth, serving as a small family unit across the nation. She said the the burden of the economy has further deprive students and youths from fatherly, motherly and even big sister or brother care because they are too busy trying to make ends meet and this is where NISAYA comes to stand in between the gaps.

Responding, Sen. Imasuen, welcome NISAYA in a receptive manner and responded to all concerns, request and advocates raised, he said he recognize the difficulties faced with the organization and offer to draw supprt through various relevant agencies responsible for youths and students, saying that he will do everything possible to support and give NISAYA all the neccessary guidance and collaboration particular in his senatorial district. Furthermore, he asked that we report back on the case of the Nigerian youth killed in Sweden and promised to take it up from there, saying as the chairman committee on ethics privileges and public petition he will relate it to the appropriate channels and follow it up to a logic conclusion. He asked that we put in writings all request and concerns to enable him respond swiftly and promptly.
