*WEEP NO MORE FOR BARR. FRED*
By Amb. Edwin Asibor.
The passing of late Mr. Fred Aidenagbon Izuanje Esq., is a poignant reminder that our time on earth is a mission given by God, and upon completion, we return to our creator on account of it, hence His life and legacy offer valuable lessons for us all.
Barr. Fred, an humbled disciplined legal practitioner and justice advocate, was born on July 11, 1976, to the family of late Mr. and Mrs. Samson Ohimai Aidenagbon both from Igue-setale community in Owan East LGA of Edo State , He attended Emai Primary School and Okpokumi Secondary School, Emai, before obtaining his law degree from the University of Benin in 2010. He was called to the Bar in 2012 and became a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2013. His passion to help indigent people led him to join the Civil service of the ministry of Justice
My work with Barr. Fred marked a significant humanitarian milestone. We partnered with his Citizens Rights Department, Ministry of Justice, to implement the Petty Offenders Out of Custody Project, an initiative implemented by our NGO (Securing the Creative Goldmine in Youths Initiative), supported by Prisoner Rehabilitation and Welfare Action of Nigeria (PRAWA). His Boss Mrs. Charity Ebosele, Esq., then Director of the department, approved the partnership and appointed Barr. Fred to lead the initiative , thereby reviving the dormant Prison Decongestion program.
Barr. Fred worked tirelessly with team of pro bono lawyers from NBA, led by Mr. Amaechi Nwazor, Esq.and our NGO team, to profile and release pre-trial detainees with petty offences. The team visited the four correctional centres in Edo State including the children correctional centre , resulting in over 2000 releases..
Barr. Fred was instrumental in our criminal justice initiatives in Edo State (2021-2024). I'll always remember our challenging journey to Auchi and Ubiajja prisons, where we overcame a life threatening obstacles with divine help.
Fred was an extraordinary individual - a dedicated family man, devoted Christian, and relentless goal-getter. He worked tirelessly, often in the office on Saturdays and late into the night, some his work aid the ministry to secure several landmark judgement. As a group leader in his church, he fulfilled his religious obligations, and his commitment to his family was unwavering.
Barr. Fred maximized his potential to impact lives, spreading peace, joy, humility, and respect. Though His passing is a loss, but his legacy of humanitarian impact lives on. He lived a purposeful life, fulfilling his destiny . He passed on Friday 7th of January 2026 and was laid to rest in his home town on Friday January 30th 2026
Therefore we are to WEEP NO MORE FOR BARR. FRED IZUANJE AIDENAGBON 🙏who is undoubtedly resting in the Lord
