Ordering a Heart ♥ Check!

A long time ago, I came to the realization that most times, in our journey through life, there's a serious battle to keep our hearts sane and healthy.

And as we journey, it becomes inevitable not to be glazed by fire, and acquire a few battle scars.

What we do with our scars is entirely up to us.

The scarring process (healing) however, leaves us responsible for certain decisions in our quest to thrive and survive.

As Christians we know, God can make use of our experiences to shape us and make us stronger.

These experiences also, serve as reminders of the ways in which God has worked in our lives, helping us to grow and develop as individuals.

And then, become better equipped to help and encourage others who may be going through similar struggles.

Few days ago, as I reflected, I heard Abba ask, babe...how's your heart?

My heart ♥ Yikes! I haven't thought about that in a while. I honestly wanted to douge that question. And I go like...elmmmm you know, it is fine😂

The resounding laughter of a father saying to a child, Checkmate! Erupted.

And I knew. It is definitely time to take a second look. Perhaps a deep heart check.

I found some helpful resources. I'll share them with you.

The song though got me doing a March👣👣and then a re-pledge.

I'm asking you as a superhero.

How's your heart???😁

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 NLT

I don't have something More fantastic to title this post than...

HERO...SUPERHERO

Few weeks ago, I felt like Argh! I was forced to create space to process my feelings 😅 and I had a meeting with my beautiful warriors in heels 👠

Our take home quick question was, IF(a big fat if)...If you had the opportunity to sit with two of the Bible heroes who would they be based on your current season?

Ahhh, I jumped at the question and attacked it furiously.

❤️ PAUL ❤️ DEBORAH

Sat graciously at the top of my list😁

I don't want this to be so long, so let us settle with gist on our Big Brother Paul💕.

I imagined myself dragging a table and two chairs, I called Big Brother Paul and asked that he sat.

I proceeded to doff my hat for him. In my own words, "Brotherly, you too much". He smiled and said "sit my dear".

The gist started. I can't even begin to tell you the half of it. Suffice to say that Dude was generous with his crash course.

He had guts! In jail he sat, wrote and taught. Free, he was bold, audacious and he taught.

So for him, free or in captivity this state of being (teaching others to be Christ-like) was a normal!

He knew just how to hold on to his reins and galloped through life. He could kill flesh and tap into the spirit.

Gosshh! I could go on and on. Or is it the pursuance of peace instead of giving someone a bloodied nose😁

But, he said something to me. He said, "Veee you know what? We are all heroes in our own sphere of life".

We are all HEROES...SUPERHEROES. In our own sphere as Teachers, Friends, Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers and, the list is endless.

Get up and do the work. Find your strength and keep it. Share your joys and be the light.

Dear friends and family, welcome to our new normal.

Mariah Carey's song, Hero, ties it perfectly together for us. Link below.

ENVELOPED WITH LOVE.

I tossed the key into the tray, hoping to find them eventually. I had locked myself in. I was not ready for a visitor.

Fine lines crisscrossed my face. I can’t remember the last smile.

Lola called as I observed myself. I starred at the phone not knowing what to say. It had been a long time since I last heard from her.

A part of me needed to hear her kind voice. But another resisted.

I looked at the phone. “One message received”.

“I have been praying for you. It’s been a long while. Stay safe.”

My dear Lola, would she? Pray for me? Am I worth it?

I found solace in my teacher’s words. Envelope them. Don’t forget to pray for them.

He had taught us to say…

For all those who you wish us to pray for and for those who have asked us to pray for them; embrace them in your love and meet their needs as it pleases your loving heart.

Lola would remember. I know she would. She had remembered me after all.

🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹

How often have you said these words “I am praying for you”, “I will pray for you”.

Did you fulfil your promise? God calls us to uphold one another in prayer. Knowing we would always need the intercession.

A friend of mine said the other day “it is such a blessing to have someone pray for/with you when you need it the most”.

Have you prayed for someone recently? Stop. Say a prayer now.

First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them.

Don't Muffle Up

Ps. It's a long read...be patient 😁

Have you ever had the need to cry out for help and, then the sudden urge to suppress it comes over you, causing you to cry and suffer in silence, alone, not knowing if anyone would have helped?

A friend narrated a funny but peculiar event he had experienced and I couldn't help but think...

As he went home few days ago from an event, he walked into a sea of students, who gleefully were walking out the school gate.

It was an elementary school so you can imagine the excitement in the air. At last, they get to go home from school.

He was lost in the quest of absorbing the scene. The smell of sweat, the dusty clad legs...a testament of the day's play.

As he walked amongst them, still deep in thought; traveling down memory lane trying to remember his childhood days. A rude sound, followed closely by a shrill cry je**ed him out of his thoughts.

A young lad had slapped his sister so hard. He turned sharply to the young boy, "why?" he asked. "she says she's hungry, we are going home. She wouldn't stop asking for something to eat" he responded.

"Is that all" my friend asked desperately, half scolding and yelling at the same time.

Somehow, he managed to stop himself from getting angrier. The sad look on the boy's face and his red eyes had gotten his attention.

He went limp deep in thoughts. This young lad, had responded to his sister's request with a slap. There could be a thousand reason for his actions. Perhaps...he too was hungry, tired and angry.

My friend switched on automation. He proceeded to console both of them. Finally seeing them walking away in half embrace, hand in hand, admiring their biscuit wrappers.

He watched them walk away...thinking, will they eat or will they save it for the next meal...perhaps take home to share with others???

This got me thinking...

God comes to our help if only we'd ask and be willing to accept the kind of help he grants us.

In this new month, don't forget to ask God.

Keep asking, and be willing to accept his help.

I find this song very refreshing and rewarding. Take a few minutes to listen and reflect.

I waited patiently for the LORD's help; then he listened to me and heard my cry.Psalms 40:1 GNBDK
