MCAN Northeast Zone Biannual Convention 2026

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu.

The Muslim Corpers' Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Northeast Zone, is pleased to officially announce its Biannual Zonal Convention, scheduled to hold as follows:

Date: 11th โ€“ 13th September 2026
Venue: Maiduguri, Borno State

This convention promises to be one of the biggest gatherings of Muslim corps members in the Northeast, featuring impactful lectures, leadership engagements, networking opportunities, spiritual development, and exciting competitions.

Special Competitions

๐Ÿ† AI & Robotics Competition โ€“ with a grand prize for outstanding participants.
๐Ÿ† Agripreneurship Competition โ€“ with a major prize for innovative agricultural ideas and solutions.

All Muslim corps members across the Northeast Zone are encouraged to begin their preparations for what promises to be a greater and more rewarding convention. We urge everyone to participate actively and make this gathering a memorable success.

๐Ÿ“š CAREER SENSITISATION PROGRAMME | MCAN NORTH EAST ZONE
Alhamdulillah! Today, Sunday, 26th July, 2026, the Muslim Corpersโ€™ Association of Nigeria (MCAN) North East Zone, in strategic collaboration with MCAN Mubi Zone, Adamawa State, successfully organised a Career Sensitisation Programme at Muhammad Alkali Islamic Education Centre, Mubi, Adamawa State.
The programme was centred on the theme:
โ€œ Career Choice: Seven Steps to Choosing the Right Career Path.โ€

The students were inspired and guided through insightful presentations by:

When they heard of a day that wipes away sins, they didnโ€™t delay,
they didnโ€™t get distracted but they prepared for it with their hearts before their bodies.

Gone Too Soon: NYSC Adamawa Bids Tearful Farewell to Three Fallen Corps Members

There are losses that leave a scar on the heart, losses so painful that words seem inadequate to express the depth of grief they bring. Such was the atmosphere on Saturday as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Adamawa State Secretariat, bid a final farewell to three young corps membersโ€”Jalilat Suleiman, Usman Shuaibu, and Abdullahi Daudaโ€”whose promising lives were cut short in a tragic motor vehicle accident on 3rd June, 2026, along the Narehi axis of the Gireiโ€“Song Road in Adamawa State.

Only days earlier, these young Nigerians had completed their orientation course as members of 2026 Batch A Stream II. Filled with hope, excitement, and dreams of a successful service year, they had embarked on a journey to retrieve their belongings and settle into their places of primary assignment. Like thousands of corps members across the country, they looked forward to making a difference, building friendships, and contributing their quota to national development.
It was a painful reminder of how fragile life can be. Yet amidst the sorrow, there was gratitude for lives that, though brief, inspired love, friendship, service, and sacrifice.

The dreams of Jalilat Suleiman, Usman Shuaibu, and Abdullahi Dauda may have been cut short, but their memories will continue to live on in the hearts of their families, friends, colleagues, and the entire NYSC family. Their uniforms may be folded away, and their footsteps may no longer be heard, but the legacy of their service and the love they shared will never be forgotten.
Gone too soon, but forever remembered.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

On behalf of the executives of the Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN), I warmly felicitate with all our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of this yearโ€™s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

May this blessed season of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion bring peace, mercy, abundant blessings, and happiness into our lives. May Allah (SWT) accept our acts of worship and grant us the grace to witness many more celebrations in good health and strong Iman.

Some beautiful Sunnah practices the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged during Eid-el-Kabir include:

โ€ข Offering the Eid prayer with sincerity and joy.
โ€ข Glorifying Allah with Takbir before and after the prayers.
โ€ข Wearing neat and clean clothes.
โ€ข Showing love, kindness, and generosity to family, neighbors, and the less privileged.
โ€ข Performing the sacrifice (Qurbani) for those who are capable.
โ€ข Visiting loved ones and strengthening unity among Muslims.
โ€ข Being thankful to Allah for His countless blessings.

Let us celebrate with moderation, gratitude, and remembrance of Allah.

May Allah strengthen the bond of brotherhood among us and guide us all aright.
