Together with Alheri-Ys Foundation and ImiGan Hope Empowerment Initiative, we paid an advocacy visit to the Bauchi State House of Assembly and engaged the Chairman, House Committee on Education, on the strengthening and establishment of fully equipped and functional school dispensaries across the state.

The discussion focused on existing gaps in school health services and the need for stronger support and collaboration to improve the health and wellbeing of school children.

It was a productive engagement, with practical ways forward discussed towards creating healthier and safer learning environments for children.

We appreciate the Chairman for the engagement and and look forward to continued collaboration.

Strengthening School Health Services in Bauchi State.

Together with Alheri-Ys Foundation and ImiGan Hope Empowerment Initiative, we paid an advocacy visit to the Bauchi State Ministry of Education to discuss and advocate for the establishment and strengthening of fully equipped and functional school dispensaries across the state.

The discussion focused on improving access to basic healthcare for students, health education, and stronger linkages between schools and health facilities.

The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss practical ways forward and the importance of collaboration between government and civil society organisations in creating healthier and safer learning environments for children.

We appreciate the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed and his able officials for the engagement and look forward to continued collaboration towards strengthening school health services in Bauchi State.

The engagement focused on improving access to basic healthcare for school children, promoting early identification of health concerns, strengthening referral pathways, and creating safer and healthier learning environments.

We also discussed the importance of strong stakeholder collaboration and government support to ensure that school-based health services are not only established, but are functional and sustainable.

Together, we continue to advocate for practical solutions that put the health and wellbeing of adolescents and young people at the centre.

As part of our advocacy under the ASPIRE Project, implemented by Plan International Nigeria with support from Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada, we paid an advocacy visit to the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency to discuss the establishment of Adolescent Health Corners in health facilities across the state.

We had discussions around what it would take to create more welcoming, accessible and adolescent-friendly spaces within existing health facilities, while exploring practical steps, collaboration and sustainability.

We appreciate the openness and engagement of the Board as we continue to advocate for health services that respond to the realities and needs of adolescents.

Together with Better Life Restoration Initiative- BERI, we engaged the Bauchi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development on an advocacy visit aimed at strengthening adolescent and reproductive health in Bauchi State, as part of the ASPIRE Project, implemented by Plan International Nigeria and funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada

The discussion focused on the establishment of Adolescent Health Corners in health facilities and increased allocation for family planning intervention.

The Ministry expressed its commitment to supporting these priorities and working with relevant stakeholders to move them forward.

A productive engagement, with ideas shared and practical steps discussed towards better health outcomes for adolescents, girls and young women.
