Today, the Sahara Reporters, reports that the "Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Bans Male, Female Students From Standing Together During Ramadan, Threatens To โMarryโ Violators", where it prompted a lots of their followers to comment harshly on the school decision.
However, 2 hours later, the school authority debunked this report and sees it as a mere rumour, baseless and did not emanate from the institution.
"A statement signed by the Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Public Relations, Malam Tanimu Gambo, describes the circular purportedly issued from the Office of the Registrar as malicious and misleading.
The statement explains that the Polytechnic remains a co-educational federal tertiary institution that allows legitimate academic and social interactions among students within the bounds of decency and institutional regulations.
According to the statement, the institution is multi-religious and multicultural, accommodating students and staff from different parts of Nigeria and beyond, and does not promote or enforce any religious-based policy in its operations.
It therefore advises parents, guardians, students, alumni and members of the public to disregard the purported circular and always verify information concerning the Polytechnic through its official communication channels".
