Agriculture is more than farming, it is about livelihoods, jobs, food, and opportunities.

For two days, YAHIC, with support from the French Embassy FEF-OSC, brought government MDAs, CSOs, women and youth representatives, media and other stakeholders together to review and strengthen the Bauchi State Agricultural Policy Framework.

The conversations moved beyond identifying gaps. Stakeholders agreed on priority areas, proposed measurable inclusion targets for women, youth and persons with disabilities, established a TWG governance structure, and developed a 30–60–90 day action plan to keep the work moving.

Because better policies are not just written, they are shaped by the people they are meant to serve.

Sometimes, the first step to better mental health is simply starting the conversation.

On 10 September, YAHIC joined and other stakeholders for a mental health awareness and stakeholder engagement in Bauchi State, bringing evidence, experiences, and real conversations to the table.

From adolescent mental health to the gaps in early identification, referral, and support, the discussions reminded us that better mental health services begin with listening, understanding, and working together.

One conversation. Shared evidence. A step towards better support.

Potential is everywhere.

In young people with ideas they haven't had the opportunity to explore. In voices waiting to be heard. In solutions that begin as nothing more than a conversation between people who believe something can be better.

BUILD Summit 2026 was created around that possibility, From Potential to Impact: Young People Driving Sustainable Development.

For one day, young people came together to learn, connect, question, collaborate and imagine what happens when potential is given the right platform.

And we didn't do it alone.

We are grateful to Exchange Centre, aricofoundation, The Kairos Initiative for standing with us as partners in creating a space where young people can connect opportunity with action and turn ideas into possibilities.

Because BUILD was never meant to be just one day.

The summit may be over. The building has only just begun.

Some questions deserve more than one perspective.

At BUILD Summit 2026, the conversation around young people, leadership, innovation and sustainable development brought four distinct voices to one table, each with experiences, lessons and perspectives shaped by the work they do.

Joining the conversation were Dorathy Stephen Lawi , Yahaya Bako Galadima , Hameedah Umar Hauwa Umar Umar, and . Khadija Abdulwahab Katagum , with guiding the conversation as Panel Moderator.

Different experiences. Different perspectives. One shared belief: young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow they are already capable of driving meaningful change today.

This was more than a panel. It was a conversation about what happens when potential meets opportunity, experience, and the courage to act.

The room came alive.

Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Different ambitions, but one shared question: what can young people do with the potential they already have?

From powerful conversations to shared experiences, new connections and moments of inspiration, BUILD Summit 2026 became a space where potential met possibility.

Every story has a beginning.

Before the conversations, the ideas, the challenges and the moments that followed, there was the arrival, young people stepping through the doors, meeting new faces, and getting ready to BUILD.
