Great News from Gamunan Care and Support Foundation (GCSF)

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our pre-award assessment conducted by the team from Jhpiego under Advancing Integrated Health Services Delivery for SRHR and Communicable Diseases Project.

The exercise, held at our GCSF Office in Gombe, Gombe LGA, Gombe State, was a great opportunity to showcase our commitment, capacity and accountability in delivering quality community interventions.

We sincerely appreciate the visiting team for their professionalism and we remain dedicated to strengthening community systems that promote sexual and reproductive health, rights and the wellbeing of vulnerable populations.

SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION IN FUNAKAYE LGA, GOMBE STATE.

Gamunan Care and Support Foundation, in partnership with for Family Health (SFH - Gombe) under Global Fund–supported GC-7 NTHRIP IPAYP Project, has successfully conducted distribution of school materials to vulnerable children at Funakaye LGA Secretariat, Bajoga. These materials include school uniforms to 47 Out-of-school children, Orphans and children from indigent families.

The event was graced by distinguished personalities and stakeholders, including:

The Executive Chairman, Funakaye LGA, ably represented by his Deputy, Alh. Umar Busum
The Emir of Funakaye, Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Kwairanga IV, ably represented by Cika-idon Funakaye, Alhaji Damina Muhammad
The Education Secretary, Alhaji Bala Adamu
Representatives from the DSS and Social Welfare Department
Religious leaders, school principals, school heads, caregivers and other key stakeholders

This initiative reflects our strong commitment to complement Nigerian laws that guarantee the right of every child to education and make primary education compulsory and free. It also strengthens the fight against inequalities by supporting orphans, children living with HIV and indigent children to enroll, re-enroll and remain in school.

The Education Secretary, Alhaji Bala Adamu, assured that all public schools where the children were enrolled will continue to provide free education from primary one to completion, in line with government commitment to ensuring access to quality education for all. He emphasized that no child should be denied the opportunity to learn because of financial barriers.

The Executive Chairman of Funakaye LGA, represented by his Deputy, Alh. Umar Busum, commended the efforts of Gamunan Care and Support Foundation for taking this bold step, noting that it significantly reduces the burden on government and complements its drive to strUnited Nations Development Programme - UNDP

GBV Sensitisation Workshop

Gamunan Care and Support Foundation joined Ashaka Cement Company and other stakeholders on April 4th to commemorate International Women’s Day with adolescent girls from Jalingo and other schools in Ashaka, Funakaye LGA, Gombe State.

Our Program Manager, Mr. Kabir Ibrahim, delivered an impactful session on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response, equipping the girls with knowledge and confidence to speak up, stay safe and support one another.

Together, we are building a generation of empowered young women!
