International Peace Day is declared every September 21st of each year by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
It's a day to commemorate and strengthen the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.
Also, this day is designated as a time of non-violence and ceasefire, advocating for cessation of hostilities while promoting dialogue, conflict resolution, and peace education.
The theme for 2025 Peace Day is "Act Now for a Peaceful World." Reflecting on the 2025 Global Risk Report, which reveals that over the next two years tensions and conflict will definitely escalate on the globe, we all have to ACT now!
As an individual, you need to act!
At the state level, its compulsory to Act!
Non Governmental Organizations have a crucial role in peace building and are not exempted from Acting too!
From the Society for Peace and Safety, we urge you all to ACT FOR A PEACEFUL WORLD NOW by observing a minute of silence, organizing peace education events, engaging in intercultural dialogue, and other activities that can improve cooperation and understanding between cultures and nations.
