The Centre for Community Law (CCL) is deeply saddened by the tragic de*th of thirty-seven (37) persons while in the custody of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State. The Centre extends its heartfelt condolences to the families, relatives, and communities affected by this devastating loss.

The circumstances surrounding these deaths are deeply disturbing. Of particular concern are the conflicting and rapidly changing explanations that have emerged regarding what led to the de*ths.
