2026 World Malaria Day

Today, we join the global community in commemorating World Malaria Day 2026. This year’s theme, *“Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must is a call to action from international partners and stakeholders worldwide to make significant strides towards eradicating malaria.

Malaria continues to claim lives and hinder development across Africa and beyond. At the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation (DOEF), we reaffirm our commitment to advancing health equity, strengthening community awareness, and supporting initiatives that bring us closer to a malaria-free world.

DOEF recognises the tireless efforts of healthcare workers, researchers, and community leaders who stand at the forefront of prevention and treatment. Their dedication inspires us to continue advocating for improved access to healthcare, investment in innovation, and sustained political will.

The latter part of the programme has seen the arrival and one-on-one interviews of more dignitaries. The anniversary cake was cut and we were graced with a melodious saxophone session.

The distinguished one time Attorney general of Edo state, *Dr. (Barr.) Osagie Obayuwana* took us on an exciting and in-depth dive into the Rights of citizens to adequate Healthcare in Nigeria, helping us understand our entitlement as citizens to basic healthcare in Nigeria.

It was indeed an educative session, and it was fascinating to be let into the mind of this intellectual gargantuan, on a topic so sensitive but yet actively ignored. We learnt greatly👏
