Our Experience at the Benin City Correctional Centre
By Good Morning Jesus Family Foundation (GMJFF)
Our outreach to the Benin City Correctional Centre was a deep transformative experience— one that reminded us again the core purpose of Good Morning Jesus Family Foundation: to give hope, restore dignity, and carry the light of Christ to places where many people has been forgotten.
As we stepped through the prison gates, we were met not just by walls and uniforms, but by men and women with stories, with pain, with dreams, and with a hunger for hope.
Many had been abandoned by family, forgotten by society, and left to face the reality of life alone. But in those moments of worship, prayer, and encouragement, we saw tears turn to smiles, fear turn to faith, and despair turned to renewed strength.
We shared the message of God’s unfailing love— reminding them that no one is beyond redemption, and that Jesus still transform lives, restores destinies, and opens new chapters. We prayed with them individually, listened to their burdens, and gave them words of life, comfort, and restoration.
The highlight of the outreach was the joy on their faces as we ministered, prayed, and presented items of support. Their gratitude was overwhelming, and their hearts were open. Many rededicated their lives to Christ. Some requested Bibles. Others simply needed someone to talk to— someone to remind them that they still matter.
We left the prison encouraged, humbled, and more committed than ever to this mission. Truly, the harvest is great, and God is calling us to shine His hope wherever darkness tries to prevail.
To everyone who partners, prays, and supports GMJFF— you are helping us touch lives that may never be seen on a stage, but are precious to God.
Together, we will keep spreading the love of Jesus, one soul at a time.
