By Ray Festus Symperr
This year's edition of the free medical outreach and gospel crusade organized by Reverend Andrew Agbonmhenlo Medical and Gospel Outreach Foundation in partnership with University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo State; Igarra Descendants Union (IDU) UK; Sunny & Kemi Agunbiade Empowerment Foundation; VisionSpring, Saint James Anglican Church, Igarra; and Saint Andrew Anglican Church, Uneme-Ekpedo, among others at Igarra and Uneme-Ekpedo, both in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Edo State, South-South Nigeria has come and gone with loads of testimonials from beneficiaries which are difficult to forget too quickly.
With a mammoth crowd of people from
Igarra and Uneme-Ekpedo and their environs present at the free medical outreach, it was reliably gathered that over 14 and 25 surgeries were done, while drugs and hundreds of eye glasses were at the landmark event respectively.
Rev. Andrew Agbonmhenlo, the President/Mission Director, confirming this to our correspondent yesterday, said that his group was driven by its mission to enhance the physical and spiritual well-being of the people. He, therefore, thanked all the medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical-related professionals, including volunteers; and all the individual and corporate partners who pulled their professionalism and resources together with his group to make the event maximally successful.
He also appreciated the Edo State Government, Saint James Anglican Church, Igarra; and Saint Andrew Anglican Church, Uneme-Ekpedo for the free use of their facilities throughout the event.
Above all, Rev. Andrew Agbonmhenlo did not fail to return all the glory to God who gave and sustained the vision. He particularly thanked Him for blessing his group with His presence and for making all provisions available since the vision began.
Urging other spirited individuals and corporate bodies alike to consider partnering with his group in the cause of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ with love on one hand; and providing free medical outreach for all on the other hand.
UK-based Barr. Sunny Agunbiade whose organization, Sunny & Kemi Agunbiade Empowerment Foundation partnered with Reverend Andrew Agbonmhenlo Medical and Gospel Outreach Foundation said that he was impressed by the huge success of the programme; and promised to continue to give their helping hands in the future as God enabled them.
His Royal Highness, Oba John Afolabi Obabori, the Onose of Uneme-Ekpedo who stormed the Uneme-Ekpedo for an inspection tour of the historic event applauded the organizers for choosing to bring the prestigious initiative to his community; and charged his subjects to swiftly take advantage of the rare opportunity.
While Igarra version of the free medical outreach and crusade with the theme: "Total Restoration" ran from Monday, 13th to Wednesday, 15th October, 2025, the Uneme-Ekpedo version ran from Thursday, 16th to Friday, 17th October, 2025.
