Delta Ministry of Justice Strengths Partnership on Women and Children’s Rights through FIDA (Nig.) Asaba Branch*
The Delta State Ministry of Justice has strengthened its collaboration with the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Nigeria, Asaba Branch, as part of ongoing efforts to promote and protect the rights of women, children, and other vulnerable persons in the state.
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, made this known during the presentation of office equipment to FIDA (Nig.) Asaba Branch in Asaba. He was represented by the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe, SAN.
The donation, which includes an all-in-one computer system, a printer, and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, fulfilled an earlier pledge by the Ministry to support FIDA’s operations and enhance its service delivery capacity.
According to the Attorney-General, the intervention aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening access to justice and reinforcing institutions involved in human rights protection across Delta State.
In her response, the Chairperson of FIDA Nigeria, Asaba Branch, Ifeoma Iloba, Esq., expressed appreciation to the Delta State Ministry of Justice for its continued support, noting that the provision of the office equipment will significantly improve efficiency, case management, and engagement at both national and international levels.
She added that the support will further strengthen FIDA’s capacity to effectively safeguard the rights of women and children in Delta State.
