TWO OUTREACHES. ONE MISSION. 💛

Last week, the JAE Foundation team visited Edjophe Primary Health Center and Otorherhe Primary Health Care Center in Ughelli, Delta State — and both outreaches were nothing short of impactful.

We spent time with patients, offered heartfelt prayers, and shared words of comfort and encouragement.
Most importantly, we introduced the Joy Anozie Esaluka Foundation and our mission to support pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children through care, nutrition, and community support.

At both centers, we collected relevant data from the beneficiaries and distributed essential palliative items to support their immediate needs. Seeing the smiles, relief, and gratitude reminds us why we do this — healthy mothers and nourished children build stronger communities.

As we continue our journey, we remain committed to touching lives, one community at a time.
Thank you, Ughelli. 💛

OUTREACH UPDATE: OKWE GENERAL HOSPITAL, ASABA — 27TH NOVEMBER 2025

Today, we witnessed the true meaning of community, compassion, and purpose.
Our team visited Okewe General Hospital, and it was nothing short of remarkable.

We spent time praying with patients, offering comfort, and sharing words of hope — simple gestures, yet powerful enough to remind each person that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

We also took a moment to introduce the Joy Anozie Esaluka Foundation (JAE Foundation) — our mission, our vision, and our commitment to supporting women (especially expectant and nursing mothers) and children across communities.

As part of our visit, we collected essential data from beneficiaries and distributed the palliative items prepared for this outreach. These items are small steps, but they meet immediate needs and open the door for longer-lasting impact.

💛 Because at JAE Foundation, we believe one truth:
Healthy children grow into strong communities.
Every child deserves proper nutrition, care, and love — regardless of background.

A nourished child learns better
Grows better
And thrives better.

And today, as we supported mothers on their antenatal journey, we were reminded once again why our work matters — stronger mothers create healthier children, and healthier children create brighter futures for all.

Thank you for standing with us.
Thank you for believing in the JAE vision.
Thank you for helping us bring hope, nourishment, and love where it is needed most.

Together, we build communities where women and children can thrive. 💛✨

25/11/2025

Every strong community begins with well-nourished mothers and healthy children.
As we prepare for our first outreach in Asaba, our team is packaging food items for antenatal mothers — a small step with a big impact.

Proper nutrition shapes a child’s future
It strengthens their mind
And fuels their growth.

This is why JAE Foundation remains committed to supporting women and children with love, care, and essential resources.
A nourished child learns better, grows better, and thrives better — and together we are making that possible.

How Malnutrition Affects Child Development: What Every Parent Should Know

Good nutrition is one of the most powerful gifts we can give a child. In many communities across Nigeria, malnutrition remains a silent threat affecting babies and young children — especially in low-income households. Sadly, many cases go unnoticed until the damage is already done.

At JAE Foundation, our mission is simple:
to support mothers and children with the knowledge and resources they need to grow healthy and strong.

Here’s what every parent, caregiver, and community member should know about how malnutrition impacts a child’s development:

1. Slower Growth and Stunting

Malnutrition can cause a child not to reach their normal height and weight.
Stunting is not just “being small for age” — it affects the child for life. Children who experience stunting often struggle academically and physically later on.

2. Weakened Immune System

A malnourished child becomes sick more often.
Common illnesses like diarrhea, malaria, and infections become more dangerous because the body does not have the strength to fight back.

3. Delayed Brain Development

The first 1,000 days of a child’s life are critical for brain growth.
Without proper nutrients like protein, iron, iodine, and vitamins, a child may experience:
• Slower learning
• Poor concentration
• Delayed speech
• Difficulty in school later in life

Good nutrition literally builds the brain.

4. Fatigue and Low Energy

Children who are malnourished often lack the energy to play or interact with others.
This affects their physical strength and emotional well-being, and can limit social development.

5. Higher Risk of Mortality

Malnutrition contributes to nearly 45% of deaths in children under five worldwide.
It weakens organs, slows development, and makes complications worse during illness.

How Can We Prevent Malnutrition?

It starts with awareness and support.
Every child deserves:
• Proper breastfeeding
• Nutritious meals (even affordable local options like beans, eggs, pap with milk, vegetables, and fruits)
• Regular checkups
• A clean environment
• Immunizations
• A mother who is supported — emotionally, socially, and financially

Our Commitment at JAE Foundation

We are committed to reducing maternal and infant mortality by supporting mothers and children through:
• Nutrition support
• Community awareness
• Health education
• Outreach programs in underserved communities

Together, we can build a future where every mother and child has the chance to thrive.
