Correction is always more difficult and stressful than putting in your best, from the very beginning to do things the right way. In our clime, doing the wrong thing over and over again makes it the "new normal", so when some individuals attempt to do right, most often society frowns at them and brand them as overzealous person's/ public enemy.
So that even a man without any known (legitimate) source of livelihood, but is able to splashes money around, becomes valued in society more than men of intellect/ reason, who are not men of means.
Hunger, want, hardship, broken down society has caused society to relegate values, morals, integrity to the background while wholeheartedly embracing mediocrity as the norm.
What then do we do as stakeholders to resousitate our dying society? Do we stand aloaf arms-akimbo and watch as our society (next generation) go from bad to worst? Or will we stand and be counted with other like-minded people and wrestle down this evil wild wind blowing in our land?
I'd rather we do the later, don't your conscience preeq You as you witness the drama occur without doing anything to help? "Silence is a war crime"... We should all feel guilty. Guilt, the underbelly of Honor.
Now is the time to act.
