END OF MONTH IMPACT FELLOWSHIP | JULY 28, 2026

The Rotary Club of Asaba Metropolitan held a memorable End of Month Impact Fellowship on Tuesday, 28th July 2026, bringing to a close a month of impactful service to the Asaba community with an enlightening lecture on Maternal & Child Health.

The theme, "Every Mother Counts, Every Child Matters: Our Collective Responsibility in Reducing Maternal and Child Mortality," was delivered by Kekai Ebi Harriet, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, FMC Asaba.

She highlighted critical gaps in maternal and child healthcare, emphasizing that ignorance remains a major challenge. She encouraged families, especially husbands, to actively support expectant and nursing mothers, stressing that healthier mothers and children lead to stronger families and communities.

In appreciation of her impactful presentation, the club presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation, which was presented by PDG Andy Uwejeyan.

This fellowship also reinforced our recent Maternal & Child Health project, where our club, alongside other Rotary clubs in Asaba, donated safe delivery kits to indigent expectant mothers at Isele-Asagba Primary Health Centre, reaffirming Rotary's commitment to the Maternal & Child Health Area of Focus.

Key Takeaway:
"Every mother counts. Every child matters. And every Rotarian can make a difference."

Members also shared positive reviews of the recently concluded District Governor's Installation in Yenagoa, commending the organizers while recommending increased manpower for future events. The fellowship also observed a moment of reflection following the sad news of the passing of PAG Lucky Inegbenosun of Uromi. May his soul rest in peace.

Thank you to our Guest Speaker and all Rotarians who attended.

*Rotary Club of Asaba Metropolitan at the Historic Installation of District Governor Rtn Chibueze Anthony Olikagu*

The Rotary Club of Asaba Metropolitan was proudly represented by a delegation of eleven (11) members at the historic installation ceremony of District Governor Rtn Chibueze Anthony Olikagu of Rotary District 9141, held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, from Friday, 24th July to Saturday, 25th July.

Our delegation was led by the Club President, Rtn Mike Mbagwu, and included the Club Secretary, Rtn Rozs Onori; Vice President, Rtn Arthur Nkemka; President-Elect, Rtn Omo Ekeneam; Treasurer, Rtn Eki Omozuwa; PGD Andy Uwejayan; Project Service Chair, Rtn Ugochukwu Onyeaka; Rtn Joseph Ikedeashi; and other dedicated Rotarians, making a total of eleven representatives from our club.

Activities commenced on Friday evening with a colourful Welcome Reception, where Rotarians and guests from across the district gathered to celebrate fellowship and reconnect ahead of the official programme. The event also commemorated a significant milestone — the 10th Anniversary of Rotary District 9141 and the installation of its 10th District Governor.

The official installation ceremony on Saturday was a remarkable and well-organised event attended by several distinguished Rotary leaders and dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria. A major highlight was the presence of the Rotary International President Olayinka Babalola, who attended the event in person, alongside a Trustee of The Rotary Foundation PDG Ijeoma Okoro and many other notable Rotary leaders. Their presence underscored the importance of the occasion and made the celebration even more memorable.

The day's activities concluded with an exciting Gala Host Hospitality Night filled with fellowship, music, cultural displays, fashion parades, dancing, and memorable moments that further strengthened the bonds of Rotary friendship across the district.

Overall, the event was a resounding success and provided an opportunity for learning, networking, and celebrating Rotary's enduring commitment to Service Above Self. The Rotary Club of Asaba Metropolitan is honoured to have been part of this historic occasion and congratulates District Governor Rtn Chibueze Anthony Olikagu on his installation. We wish him a successful Rotary year as he leads District 9141 to even greater heights.
