The members of RC of Asaba Metropolitan proudly represented at the just concluded All Nigerian Rotary Convention (ANRC) that held in the Garden City, Port Harcourt, River State.

It was a brilliant convergence of Rotarians from across the nation and the experience and excitement were top notch.

Congratulations to all Rotarians in Nigeria and those from RC of Asaba Metropolitan.

For us at the Rotary Club of Asaba Metropolitan, Tuesday, 23rd September 2025 provided an opportunity for a Business fellowship. The President, Rtn. Frank Nwaebo presented resolutions reached at the last BOD meeting, which were ratified by members.

It was heartwarming learning of the confirmed date for the President's installation; Tuesday, 21st October 2025 and members are looking forward to it.

An installation Committee was re-constituted and now chaired by PE, Rtn. Mike Mbagwu. The committee did not waste time in raising funds for the installation, which started with in-house donations. The Chairman called on all members to hit the ground running considering the limited time available to achieve the club's goals.

The club also announced a bold strategic goal to remain one of the top 5 clubs in the District! This ambitious target requires our collective efforts, especially in Foundation Giving and membership growth. In making this declaration, the President appealed to each member to bring at least one new in this Rotary year.

Let's unite for a greater impact in our society.

Yours faithfully,
Rtn Tosin Akilaiya

As the 2024/ 2025 Rotary year winds down, our club, the Rotary Club of Asaba Metropolitan organised an in - house handing over ceremony and birthday celebrations of our April, May and June celebrants.

The outgoing President, Rtn. Palmer Joy Omigie reeled out her achievements for the year to the admiration of club members. She thanked members for their unflinching support during the year ending and further rallied them to give even greater support to the Incoming President and his board.

Members took turn to eulogies the outgoing President's determination and the succeses she achieved during the year under review.

The high point of the evening was the transfer of baton from the outgoing President to the Incoming President. It was a simple but symbolic exercise involving the removal of the medallion from the outgoing President Rtn. Palmer Joy Omigie and the wearing of the medallion on the Incoming President, Rtn. Frank Uzoma Nwebo. Our Past District Governor, Rtn. Andy Uwejeyan and other Past Assistant Governors present supervised this crucial exercise.

The fellowship also provided us opportunity to induct our newest Rotarian - Rtn. Gina Mike. Many thanks to the AG of our club, Rtn. Asidi Oby who admitted our friend into Rotary following the simple induction process.

Club members born in the months of April, May and June were celebrated. A giant birthday cake designed beautifully in Rotary colours caught the eyes of everyone. The celebrants happily cut the cake amidst fun and excitement.

The fellowship was well attended despite the unfavourable weather conditions. It took place outside of our regular fellowship venue. Thank you the management of Octave exclusive lounge, Okpanam Road, Asaba for opening your doors to Rotary.

It has been an amazing 2024/ 2025 Rotary year for us at RC of Asaba Metropolitan. We do have a few other projects in the works and trust us to report same when they are birthed. Untill then, let us continue to share the magic of Rotary.

Congratulations Rtn. Ugochukwu on your induction as the newest member of the RC of Asaba Metropolitan. We join our PAG Lolo Nneka Enwelu as she charged you to uphold the ideals of Rotary in your everyday engagements.

A special commendation to Rtn. Chris Ayidu for his determination at fishing quality members for the club and we encourage others to follow suit.

The multiple projects which were commissioned last week at Madonna School for Children with Special needs starting from the tree planting to the provision of solar power equipment and skill acquisition / donations of desktop computers were reported by PAG Arthur Nkemka.

He also reported on the donation of safety jackets at the Marine beach, Cable point, which project he has advised to be incorporated into the Club's 3 years strategic plan.

Activities to celebrate this year's Discon are about underway, and members are primed for this significant assembly of Rotarians across the district in Port Harcourt

We commend our guests at the fellowship for sharing their time and treasures with us and we hope they consider joining us in the coming weeks.

Let us meet again next Tuesday to continue the magic of Rotary.

Rotary is good!

Hear one of our benefactors responding to a PHf award bestowed on him recently by the club. He recounted days of humble beginnings with PDG Andy Uwejeyan during the early days of the club.

It is important to note that his facility has housed our weekly fellowship for many years now. The RC of Asaba Metropolitan is thankful to you Rtn. (Prince) Uzoma Idabor, the chairman/ CEO of Nelrose Hotels and Suites, Asaba.

This event happened during an outdoor pool party fellowship of our club and a boost for the public image of the club.
