At , Colombia 🇨🇴 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱 announced they will co-host the first-ever diplomatic International Conference on the Just Transition Away from Fossil Fuels in April 2026 - a critical step toward phasing out fossil fuels for good.

This milestone is the result of relentless grassroots advocacy worldwide, led by the Fossil Fuel Treaty initiative. ✊🏽🌍

History shows that transformative processes don’t always start inside UN walls - just like:
🔹 TCFD, which reshaped global climate risk disclosure
🔹 Global internet governance, which began with ICANN & IETF before becoming the UN’s Internet Governance Forum

MGCY and youth constituencies have consistently called for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty across FfD-4, COPs, and the Summit of the Future.
This process launched at COP30 could help make fossil fuels history. 🔥➡️🌱
