My Story – Why I Founded Heart of Dove Initiatives

I was born into a world many would call blessed. Growing up, I never had to worry about food, shelter, or whether I could go to school. For a long time, I thought every child lived that way — until I started noticing the friends I played with during school breaks.

Many of them were from the streets. They often came to school hungry, their uniforms torn, their minds weighed down by struggles no child should carry. In class, some seemed less brilliant, not because they lacked intelligence, but because hardship, hunger, and responsibility had stolen their focus.

I began to ask myself questions. Why was my world so different from theirs? Why did I have opportunities while they barely had a chance? What amazed me most was that, despite the disparity, they never showed hatred. Instead, they showed love. When the bell rang and we ran outside to play, we were just children — no rich, no poor — only laughter, joy, and togetherness.

Visiting some of them at home opened my eyes even more. I saw children working hard after school to support their parents, carrying adult burdens far too early. I saw lives I never imagined existed. And those images stayed with me.

As we grew older, the differences became sharper. Opportunities became narrower, and while some of us advanced, many of those same friends were swallowed by the harshness of life. It became clear to me: greatness, talent, and dreams exist everywhere, but opportunity is not equally shared. That, more than anything, shapes destinies.

That realization is what birthed Heart of Dove Initiatives.

I founded Heart of Dove to build a bridge between those two worlds I grew up seeing. Our mission is to create a level playing field for children and youths who have the desire for greatness but lack the opportunities to nurture it. Once we see the fire in them, we step in to help fan it, guide it, and make sure it doesn’t go out.

I believe no child should be defined by where they are born or by what they lack. Every child deserves the chance to dream, to grow, and to fly. That is the heart of my story, and the heart of Heart of Dove Initiatives.
