It's another Wednesday for our weekly

Our for today is Pelumi Nubi.

Who is Pelumi Nubi? She is a 28-year-old Nigerian-born travel content creator based in London. As of April 2024, she has a record of 87 countries she has visited around the globe. She is one of those women who kept the Nigerian flag flying, even across borders.

Pelumi is our today because of her tremendous courage, zeal and commitment. Just recently, she completed a solo drive from London to Lagos Nigeria, a journey of 68 days which ended on 7th April 2024. This is a journey no black woman has previously made.

Despite living with dyslexia, Pelumi has discovered her strengths and is not letting anything get in her way, not even fear, rejections or discouragement.

Following through her journey updates on her social media platform, the drive was quite challenging. She encountered so many obstacles which would and should make her give up but she didnโ€™t, instead she held her head up high and completed the journey in her small car which she nicknamed Lumi.

Pelumi is indeed an inspiration to all, especially to those living with dyslexia and similar disabilities. In her words โ€˜the journey isnโ€™t about breaking records but about showing the world that impossible is just a word especially when youโ€™ve got enough grit and determinationโ€™.

Upon crossing the Nigerian border on 7th April, She was welcomed by family, friends and fans who celebrated her in a grand style at the University of Lagos.

Her solo drive attracted the attention of the Lagos State governor, Gov. Sanwo Olu who bestowed on her a Lagos tourism ambassadorship accompanied with a car and a house.

Let's give it up for Pelumi Nubi!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
