Mr. Peter Obi further encouraged me to vote for him in 2027 after his interview with BBC Hausa...

Madina said: “You promised Nigerians a four-year term as president. Will you not become greedy for power after that term?”

Mr. Peter Obi said: “I will not stay a day longer than four years. I am greedy for work, I am not greedy for power.”

On the security issue, Obi said he will not sit in Abuja giving orders, he will go to the places to see with his own eyes. What is needed is for the president to make up his mind that the problem will end. The perpetrators of these crimes are known, they are in the bush, so we will find them.

Madina said: “But I will see you in Jejina, because I will also go to work.”

Mr. Peter Obi said: “Madina, if I become president of Nigeria, I will not leave this country, I will not go on vacation even for a day in the four years. I will only travel for other reasons, but not for vacation.”

“In the four years, I will spend my vacation here in Nigeria, in Zamfara, or Sokoto, or Jos. I will go to the most troubled areas. I want to use that opportunity to talk to the people.”

On the issue of fuel subsidies, Obi said corruption is the biggest problem, and he will deal with corruption in the fuel subsidy sector. Corruption has ruined the fuel subsidy sector. What I will do is eliminate corruption and continue to provide subsidies.

“If you do not steal, your wife and children do not steal, this problem will be reduced by 50 percent.”

Madina said: “Buhari once said he would deal with corruption, but that did not happen.”

Obi said: “Stop, stop Madina. The difference between me and Buhari is that he was not a total authority. I will be a total authority in the government.”

Madina said: “Will you withdraw if there is one candidate and support him?”

Obi said: “Let the people vote for whomever they want.”

Madina said: “You will not withdraw then?”

He said: “No, no... Think about it. What if one person gets 20 million votes?”

If you win the election in 2027, will you run again?

Obi said: “I am getting old, but I may do it if the time comes. But I want Nigeria to be a country where children born after independence will rule.”

Why didn’t you choose a young vice president, even though you said you want young people to rule Nigeria?

Obi said: “No, no. Kwankwaso is young compared to other Nigerian candidates. The job requires someone who is experienced. Kwankwaso has experience in politics.”

Nigeria will be OK 👍
Peter Obi is qualified. 🇳🇬

Lamidi Apapa… the “Superstar” and “StarBoy” of Tinubu. 😂

When Peter Obi was still in the Labour Party, he was reportedly given a big SUV, police es**rt, accommodated in big hotels, and granted numerous interviews to attack Obi.

Now that Obi has left the Labour Party, the “StarBoy” appears to have been dumped. He is no longer useful to them.

Nor let politicians use you oooo! 😂

After your usefulness to them is over, they will drop you, and that’s when your eyes will clear. 👀

I am pursuing a vision that goes beyond personal ambition, a zone where every person matters, every community counts, and opportunity is accessible to all.

I believe the future of Tiv land must be bigger than any one individual. It must be about the people, the communities we call home, and the shared prosperity we can build together.

I grew up in the rural areas of Ajio, schooled in Adikpo and Makurdi. I have looked for jobs, struggled with starting a business and have experience the problems of our people first hand. I understand the challenges and I have developed a solution.

That is why I am offering myself to serve: to contribute to a new Tiv land where inclusion, opportunity, and progress are realities for all communities.

I am just that one young mind, with a new vision to make every one proud of what we do from our nothingness.

Join me, let us win together.

God is involved.

UNITY OF PURPOSE IS STRONGER THAN ELITE SPONSORSHIP

Sometimes, history reminds us that political power is not always determined by the size of a convoy, the weight of a godfather, or the amount of money available for distribution.

During the 2004 Local Government Elections in Benue State, a very young Stephen Manta contested the chairmanship of Vandeikya Local Government against Emmanuel Chenge, who is today the Principal Private Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Manta was in his early 30s, fresh from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He had no powerful godfather, no enormous financial war chest and no intimidating convoy.

What he had was a vision, determination, a handful of committed friends and a strong belief in the people.

Among those who stood with him were Bemgba Iortyom, Baba Ayemtys Atsem, Zack Adye, Engr. Terhemen Hon and a few others. They were young, but were all united by a common purpose; to stand by one of them who had a vision.

On the other side was the political establishment.

Chenge had the support of many of the political heavyweights in Vandeikya. The elite rallied around him. Powerful personalities and government officials stood behind his campaign.

At one point, Pa Jerome Tilley Gyado led a convoy of more than 50 vehicles in support of Chenge.

Manta's campaign looked completely insignificant by comparison. He had a Hiace bus and a few motorcycles.

Sometimes, while moving from village to village at night, his team would have to step aside and allow the massive convoy to pass before continuing their grassroots mobilisation.

But something the convoy could not carry was the genuine support of the people.

Manta and his team of committed friends walked into villages. They visited homes. They listened to ordinary people. They campaigned in places accessible only by foot or motorcycle.

And when the direct primaries came, the people spoke. The supposed underdog won in a landslide. The convoy had been bigger. The political establishment had been stronger. The resources were greater. But the people were united behind a cause.

That is the lesson.

Money can mobilise crowds, but only purpose can build a movement. Convoys can create an impression of strength, but unity creates real political strength.

Today, a similar battle is unfolding in Nigeria. There are people with enormous resources. There are those who can deploy government influence, huge convoys and money to intimidate ordinary citizens. But Nigeria's future cannot be purchased with money. Our destiny cannot be determined by the size of someone's convoy. If we truly want a better Nigeria, then we must calm down, put aside our personal differences, resist intimidation and rally around a common purpose.

This is where the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) comes in. NDC does not have to be the party with the biggest convoy. We do not have to outspend everyone. We do not need every political elite on our side. What we need is the people on our side.

We need committed men and women in the villages, towns, wards and communities who believe that Nigeria can be better. We need unity of purpose.

If we remain divided, those with money and political machinery will continue to dominate. But if we unite around a common purpose, the people can surprise the political establishment.

The lesson from Vandeikya in 2004 remains relevant today: A small but united team with a genuine connection to the people can defeat a powerful establishment. Let us therefore unite.

Let us stop looking at who has the biggest convoy. Let us stop being intimidated by who is giving more money.

Let us build our support around the NDC from the grassroots and take the message of a better Nigeria to every ward, polling unit and community. Unity of purpose is stronger than elite sponsorship. The people are stronger than the convoys.

Together, NDC can succeed. Together, we can rescue Nigeria.
