Nigerian Youth Movement for Progressive Governance (NIYOMOPROGO) as the name implies is a rallying point for Nigerian youths whose yearn for democratic and good governance and self development can not be overemphasized. This movement provides opportunity for the youths for self-actualization, self-expression and empowerment through entrepreneurship. It is a revolutionary movement aimed at promoti
ng dialogue among youths and fostering peace and unity by creating an enabling environment for youth to air their views and speak against the ills in our society which have hampered development in our local governments, states and the nation at large. The movement's aims and objectives are in line with the United Nation's objectives for the International Year of Youth as a tool to achieving the millennium development goals as listed below;
1 Create awareness (increase recognition of youth development as a smart investment by the public and private sectors).
2 Advocate for the recognition of young peoples contribution to national and community development and to achieving the millennium development goals (MDGs).
3 Promote understanding of inequalities amongst youth and how to effectively address the needs of the most disadvantaged.
4 Foster research and knowledge building on youths to better inform youth policies and programmes.
5 Mobilize and engage (increase youth participation and partnership)
6 Institutionalize mechanism for youth participation in decision making process.
7 Support youth led organizations and initiation to enhance their contribution to society.
8 Strengthen networks and partnership among government youth-led organizations, academia, civil society organization, the private sector, the media and the Nigerian system to enhance commitment and support for holistic youth development. Connect and build bridges (increase inter-cultural understanding among youth)

9 Empower and support youth as agents of social inclusion and peace.
