POLITICAL BIGWIGS SHOULD ENGAGE THEIR OWN SONS IN ELECTORAL THUGGERY, NOT AWKA-NORTH YOUTHS — MAJORITY LEADER YAN AWKA-NORTH WARNS, URGES GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE SAFE AND SERENE POLL ATMOSPHERE
During the last Plenary Session of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Anambra State Chapter, the Majority Leader, YAN Awka-North, Comrade Nwankwo Sochima Callistus, lent his strong voice in support of a motion titled “SAY NO TO ELECTION VIOLENCE IN ANAMBRA STATE.”
In his passionate address, Comrade Nwankwo cautioned political actors against the persistent recruitment of young people as tools for electoral violence. He declared that the youths of Awka-North will no longer be manipulated or used to execute the selfish ambitions of desperate politicians.

He emphasized that the youths of Awka-North are now politically enlightened and development-driven, focused on contributing meaningfully to governance through peaceful participation, civic engagement, and responsible leadership.
> “We have grown beyond being used as thugs. Our energy and intelligence should be directed toward nation-building, not destruction. Awka-North youths stand for peace, progress, and purposeful leadership,” he added.
Comrade Nwankwo further called on the Anambra State Government, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies to ensure a safe, free, and credible electoral process ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial elections.
