OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT ON BORNO TOUR FROM THE YOUTH PARLIAMENT FOR RENEWED HOPE (YPRH), FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

Today, Friday, 20th March 2026, marks yet another historic and remarkable milestone in the activities and progressive journey of the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope (YPRH).
The National Leadership of YPRH, under the able and visionary leadership of the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hussaini Alhaji Alkali, in conjunction with the State Executives of YPRH, Borno State Chapter, alongside the Regional Director, North-East, had the distinguished honour and rare privilege of visiting and formally decorating a highly respected political icon and elder statesman.
The personality so honoured is none other than Honourable Adamu Lawan Zaufanjin Ba, a man widely known and admired for his integrity, competence, and unwavering commitment to public service. He is a leader endowed with vision and purpose, whose political journey is characterized by excellence, capacity, and sagacity, and who stands as a true embodiment of loyalty, humility, and dedication.
Hon. Adamu Lawan Zaufanjin Ba is a trusted and devoted ally of His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Over the years, he has distinguished himself as a pillar of strength within the political landscape of Borno State and beyond.
His remarkable public service record includes serving as a four-time Commissioner in Borno State, where he held critical portfolios and contributed immensely to governance, policy implementation, and developmental strides across the state. In addition, he has occupied several other high-ranking and strategic positions, further solidifying his reputation as a seasoned administrator and dependable leader.
As a testament to his enduring relevance and political strength, Hon. Zaufanjin Ba is currently recognized as one of the leading aspirants for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Seat in Borno State ahead of the 2027 general elections. His aspiration is widely regarded as a continuation of his commitment to service, development, and the advancement of democratic values.
In recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities, consistent support for youth development, and his long-standing contributions to governance and nation-building, the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope (YPRH) found him eminently worthy of honour and responsibility. Consequently, he was officially appointed and decorated as one of the Founding Fathers (FF) of the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope.
The decoration ceremony, which was both symbolic and momentous, took place at his residence in Borno State. The event was attended by key stakeholders, YPRH officials, and members of the youth leadership structure, reflecting its significance and importance.
During the ceremony, the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hussaini Alhaji Alkali, emphasized the importance of recognizing credible leaders who have demonstrated consistent commitment to youth empowerment and national development. He noted that the inclusion of respected figures like Hon. Zaufanjin Ba into the foundational structure of YPRH will further strengthen the organization’s vision, expand its reach, and enhance its impact across the nation.
In his response, Hon. Adamu Lawan Zaufanjin Ba expressed profound gratitude to the leadership and entire membership of YPRH for finding him worthy of such a prestigious honour. In his acceptance speech, he described the initiative as timely and visionary, particularly in promoting youth participation in governance and leadership.
He further assured the leadership of his total commitment, unwavering dedication, and full support towards the ideals, objectives, and long-term vision of the Youth Parliament for Renewed Hope. He also pledged to continue mentoring and supporting young leaders, while contributing his wealth of experience to the growth and sustainability of the organization.
This event stands as a clear demonstration of YPRH’s commitment to building strong alliances with experienced leaders, promoting youth inclusion, and fostering a united front for national progress and renewed hope.
