A brave mum reached out to us tonight all the way from Kano State about her 11-month old baby who isn’t eating properly. She shared photos of herself and her baby, and I could hear the heartbreak in her voice, I was deeply moved.

Tonight several medical stores have been contacted but we haven’t been able to find what she needs. Doctors in her state recommended micronutrient supplements, but they’re currently unavailable, and she cannot afford to source them elsewhere.

The above picture is a sample of the nutritional product shared to her by a pediatrician in Kano, advising her to reach out to NGOs.
If you’d also like to support or reach out to her directly, kindly send a DM or email us: [email protected]

This is exactly why our NIMaR Protocol exists. We developed the NIMaR (Nutrition Intervention for Malnutrition Recovery) Protocol because we refuse to let an undeserving situation dictate a child’s future. NIMaR is designed to:

This is a Call for Partnership. 🤝
To the pediatricians, nutritionists, pharmacists, and fellow NGOs: We have the protocol and the boots on the ground, but we need the collective strength of a medical and logistical network to reach every mother in Kano and across Northern Nigeria.

Look at that rich, natural glow☺️That color comes from the perfect marriage of Shombo, Tatashe, and a generous addition of Nutritious Palm Oil.

The blend is ready! We’ve combined our fiber-rich Black-Eyed Peas (with 20% skins intact) with a powerhouse of fresh Tatashe, Shombo, Onions, and Protein-packed Crayfish.

We intentionally use high-quality Palm Oil for its incredible nutritional profile. For the children we serve, Palm Oil is a vital source of Pro-Vitamin A (Beta-carotene) and healthy fats, which are essential for brain development and energy.

Once blended and seasoned to perfection, we portion them into heat-safe leathers, ready for the steamer. This isn’t just a meal; it’s a carefully engineered package of recovery for our vulnerable community.
We choose Palm Oil because our kids deserve the best, it’s packed with the vitamins they need to grow strong and stay healthy. Combined with the Crayfish and Onions, this blend is as delicious as it is life-changing.

To the heartbeat of every home and the strength of our communities.
Today, we celebrate the boundless love, resilience, and sacrifice of mothers everywhere.

At The Greener Basket for Nutrition and Agriculture Foundation (GBNAF), we believe that when you support a mother, you nourish the future. We remain committed to ensuring every mother has the health, nutrition, and resources she needs to help her family thrive.

At The Greener Basket for Nutrition and Agriculture Foundation (GBNAF), every ingredient serves a physiological purpose.

The Foundation: We use Black-Eyed Peas as our base: a powerhouse of plant-based protein and essential B-vitamins.

The Bio-Fortification: We blend in Shombo and Tatashe not just for that rich, signature color, but for a massive boost in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Combined with Onions and Crayfish, we are creating a high-protein, mineral-dense meal that supports tissue repair and cognitive growth.

While we peel the beans for that smooth, creamy texture, we intentionally leave 20% of the skins in the mix. Why? Because the NIMaR Protocol prioritizes gut health. Total peeling removes vital fiber; by keeping a fraction of the hulls, we ensure the Moi Moi aids digestion and maintains a steady release of energy for the children.

A woman is a horizon, limitless, expansive, and always reaching for the light. Today, we celebrate the spirit that refuses to be contained and the heart that knows no borders. To the women who build bridges, your resilience is the foundation of every success story ever told.

To every woman, the dreamer, the doer, the anchor, and the spark: Your existence is the heartbeat of progress.

She is not just a part of the world; she is the reason it keeps turning.
Not just a voice, but the entire song. Not just a spark, but the whole flame.

Today, we honor the quiet power that stabilizes the chaos and the bold spirit that defines the future.

To the woman who carries the world in her heart and the stars in her eye. Happy International Women’s Day!♥️

Today, The Greener Basket For Nutrition and Agriculture Foundation (GBNAF) joins the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day. 🌍✨

Women are the heartbeat of agriculture and the primary architects of household nutrition. At GBNAF, we are committed to moving beyond traditional aid by implementing evidence-based protocols that stabilize economies and improve health outcomes for women across the region.

Today, we speak a language that needs no translation.
It is the language of courage in the face of the unknown.
It is the language of grace under pressure.
It is the language of persistence when the path is steep.

To every woman—the dreamer, the doer, the anchor, and the spark: Your existence is the heartbeat of progress. Your resilience is the foundation of our world.

THE POWER OF THE BIG THREE GRAINS: Engineering the Perfect Nutritious Blend 🥣🇳🇬

GBNA Foundation (GBNAF), we don't just cook; we formulate. Our signature pap paste is a precise blend of three ancient, nutrient-dense grains: Masara (Maize), Dawa (Sorghum), and Gero (Millet).

The GBNAF Formula:

Masara: For the essential energy and carbohydrates growing children need.

Dawa: Rich in antioxidants and iron to build strong blood and immunity.

Gero: Packed with magnesium and phosphorus for bone health and easy digestion.

By milling these three together into an ultra-fine paste, the NIMaR Protocol ensures that the 300 children in our care receive a complete spectrum of vitamins in every spoonful. No sieving, no nutrient loss, just 100% bio-available strength.

05/03/2026

Traditional methods often involve sieving out the chaff for Pap processing, but at GBNA Foundation (GBNAF) kitchen and Welfarism, every second of processing is a second of care. After our delicate soaking and sorting, we move to another important and critical stage: The Milling.

We didn’t just grind our grains, we milled them into a very fine paste.

Why the "Fine Mill" matters for our NIMaR Protocol:
Traditional methods often involve sieving out the chaff, but at GBNAF, we believe the "waste" is actually the "wealth." By milling so finely, we keep the vital nutrients intact within the paste. There is no need to sieve, which means:

Zero Nutrient Loss: Every bit of fiber and mineral stays in the pap.

The fine texture also makes it gentle on the systems for the children.

We are deeply grateful for the incredibly clean and precise milling process that ensures our paste is 100% safe and ready for consumption.

On our next video, we show how we processed the meal to be paired with this smooth nutrition.

To the Hearts Who Believed in Us First 🥹

They say the first step is always the hardest, but because of you, our journey began with abundance.

We are overflowing with gratitude as we look back at our February Food Drive. To our very first donors, those who contributed cash and grains and chose to remain anonymous; you are the silent pillars of this foundation.

You didn't wait for us to have an approved "name" or a "certificate"; you saw the hunger, you saw the mission, and you gave from the heart. Every child we reach, and every bowl of nutritious meal we serve carries your blessing.

Our Heart at the Hub: ♥️
These grain images displayed were captured at the Ado Automobiles office, which has been more than just a collection point. It has been our home and our central hub. To the team at Ado Automobiles, thank you for opening your doors so we could open our hearts to the community.

To our first-ever donors🥳🎉: You didn't just give us food; you gave us the courage to do more. We are now GBNAF because you believed in "The Greener Basket" when it was just a seed.

Thank you for being our beginning.
