Yesterday, the Knights of St. Mulumba celebrated the Ojefua day, also known as the founders day.

The KSM reflected on the exemplary life, virtues, and apostolic witness of Fr. Abraham Anselm Isidahome Ojefua and his enduring impact on the Church and society.

The Lecturer also Examined the Christian Virtue of Prudence, Deepened participants' understanding of prudence as one of the four cardinal virtues and its significance in Christian discipleship, pastoral ministry, and everyday life.

Finally, he Highlighted Prudence as a Hallmark of Priestly Ministry and encouraged members to emulate the life and ministry of Fr. Ojefua in our everyday life and society.

*WHEN DOES LENT END?*
(2026 CLARIFICATION)

Many Catholics assume Lent ends on Easter Sunday but this is not correct. Here is the proper understanding of the Church’s liturgical calendar:

• Lent 2026 began on Ash Wednesday (February 18, 2026)
• Lent ends on the evening of Holy Thursday (April 2, 2026)
• Specifically, Lent concludes before the Mass of the Lord’s Supper

• Once the evening Mass begins on Holy Thursday, the Church enters the *Sacred Triduum*
• The Triduum spans Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday
• It is the holiest period of the Church year
• The Triduum is not part of Lent and not part of Easter it stands on its own

• *The Triduum commemorates:*
– Christ’s Passion
– His Death
– His Resurrection

• Lenten observances (fasting, abstinence, sacrifices) technically end on Holy Thursday evening
• Good Friday still has a mandatory fast and abstinence (Canon 1251)
• Holy Saturday fasting is encouraged in preparation for Easter

• The Easter Vigil (April 4, 2026) takes place after nightfall
• It is the most solemn liturgy of the Catholic Church
• It marks the transition from darkness to the light of the Resurrection

• *Key Distinction:*
– Lent is a period of preparation
– The Triduum is the celebration of the Paschal Mystery

Born into the distinguished family of the late Sir Fidelis Ekwugha Ude (KSM) and Lady Imelda Chiatogu Ude of Upe, in the Ngor-Okpala local government area of Imo State, he has built a life and career rooted in service, faith, and professional excellence.

He is happily married to Lady Maryann Shalewa Ude, and they are blessed with a son, Sochikamji S. J. Ude.

His academic journey began at Government College Owerri in 1980, followed by Bishop Shanahan College, Orlu. He later transitioned to the University of Jos in 1988, where he successfully obtained both his primary and postgraduate degrees.

In the professional sphere, he has become a formidable figure within the hospitality and corporate sectors. His career highlights include:

* Sales Manager at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

* Chairman and Managing Director of Concorde Hotel, Owerri, following an appointment by His Excellency, Emeka Ihedioha (CON).

* Corporate General Manager of Ibeto Hotels, where he currently oversees the hospitality subsidiary of the Ibeto Group.

A devout and conservative Catholic, he is deeply committed to the traditions of the Church. His dedication to the faith is evidenced by his long-standing membership in the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Nigeria, which he joined on December 10, 2006. He currently serves as the Grand Knight of the Abuja Sub-Council.

Beyond his fraternal duties, he plays a pivotal role in religious media and development, serving as the President of Radio Maria in Nigeria and the Chairman of the Board of the Radio Maria Development Initiative.

It is an honor to present the Worthy Grand Knight, Sir Raphael-Jude Chukwukerem Ude (KSM).
