A non-profit providing free skills, career education, and employability support to African women so no woman is trapped by financial dependence.

AfricaBuiltByHer is a non-profit organization created to address a hard truth across Africa: too many women are left economically vulnerable because they were denied skills, work experience, or the opportunity to build financial independence. Across the continent, women are often positioned beneath men socially, economically, and professionally. Many are discouraged from working, pressured to aban

don their education, or restricted to domestic roles with no opportunity to build employable skills. Others are educated but disconnected from the workforce for years, leaving them unable to compete when circumstances change. In cases of abandonment, widowhood, or financial withdrawal, these women are left exposed without income, leverage, or support. AfricaBuiltByHer exists to interrupt this cycle. We provide free skills training, career education, and employability support to African women, equipping them with practical, relevant capabilities that can translate into income, work opportunities, and long-term economic stability. Our focus is not certificates alone, but skills that work, confidence that lasts, and career knowledge that protects women from dependency. Our work centers on:

Africa Built by Her is pleased to announce the launch of Cohort I of the Digital Operations & Workflow Systems Certification, designed and led by Anita Ankeli

Modern digital environments require more than hard work, they require structured systems.

This 4-week certification program will equip selected participants with practical knowledge in:

• Modern Digital Operations Architecture
• Workflow System Design using Asana
• No-Code Automation Foundations
• Ex*****on & Delivery Systems Design

By the end of the program, participants will build and document a complete workflow system applicable across corporate, startup, NGO, or independent work environments.

This program is completely free.
Admission is selective.

AfricaBuiltByHer is a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping African women who have been underexposed to opportunity with the workplace skills, career positioning, and professional confidence required to thrive in today’s economy.

Across the continent, countless capable and intelligent women remain invisible in the job market. This is rarely due to lack of ambition, it is due to lack of exposure, guidance, and professional positioning.

Founded by Anita Ankeli, an HR and People Operations professional with over 9 years of experience, AfricaBuiltByHer was born out of a repeated observation in the recruitment landscape. Too often, qualified women lose opportunities simply because no one taught them how to translate their skills into value, position their experience effectively, or navigate interviews with authority.

When a woman lacks workplace readiness, she does not just lose opportunities, she loses choice.

Our Solution & Early Impact

We provide free, structured career development support, including:
• practical training in high-demand, modern roles
• digital and workplace-relevant skills development
• career positioning through CV, interview, and LinkedIn guidance
