From December 9-11, 2025, IFES worked side-by-side with INEC to review and improve its Election Logistics Manual. The focus? Ensuring that critical operations, including distribution, transportation, and retrieval of election materials and personnel, are streamlined and ready for future elections. To promote continuous learning for improved conduct of quality National elections in Nigeria, IFES is happy to have collaborated with INEC Nigeria to conduct an internal review from December 1-3, 2025, in Awka, Anambra State. The review was imperative to assess INEC’s performance during the November 8, 2025, Anambra Governorship Election by eliciting feedback covering areas of progress, strengths, systemic and structural weaknesses and most importantly, practicable and actionable recommendations to improve future elections.
This initiative is proudly supported by UK in Nigeria under the Strengthening Transparent Elections and Electoral Resilience (STEER) in Nigeria Project.

With the Anambra Governorship Election just around the corner, IFES is proud to kick off implementation of the Project, supported by the UK in Nigeria, with a Scenario Planning Workshop in partnership with INEC Nigeria. This strategic workshop is designed to help the Commission anticipate and effectively manage potential Election Day challenges by identifying critical gaps in current operational plans and developing practical contingency plans with clearly assigned roles, responsibilities, and standard escalation protocols.
By the end of this exercise, INEC will be better prepared with a set of actionable, scenario-specific contingency plans and strengthened internal coordination across key departments, ensuring timely, informed decisions on Election Day.
