The Niger State Women and Youth Forum (NSWYF), under the guiding principle of “Gaskiya Daya Ce,” held a fruitful and memorable meeting with the Honourable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Niger State, Barr. Nasiru Mu’azu, in recognition of his commendable service, dedication and contributions to the progress and development of Niger State.

During the meeting, the Forum expressed its sincere appreciation to Barr. Nasiru Mu’azu for his excellent work, commitment to justice, professionalism and unwavering dedication to the administration and people of Niger State.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions and his support for initiatives that promote community development, peace, justice, good governance and a progressive Niger State, the Niger State Women and Youth Forum proudly conferred on him the honour of Patron of NSWYF.

The Forum believes that leadership is strengthened when individuals who serve with integrity and commitment are recognised and encouraged. His acceptance of this honour further strengthens the bond between the Forum and leaders committed to the advancement of our communities and the state at large.

NSWYF remains committed to supporting progressive leadership, empowering women and youth, promoting unity, and contributing meaningfully to the development of Niger State and Nigeria.

This recognition is a reflection of the confidence and appreciation of the people for His Excellency’s commitment to good governance, visionary leadership, development, and his expertise in transforming Niger State.

ADVOCACY MEETING & PRESENTATION OF AWARD

The Niger State Women and Youth Forum (NSWYF) – Gaskiya Daya Ce paid an advocacy visit to its Legal Adviser and Patron, Alh. Hon. Ibrahim Muhammed Babangida (Kibiyan Minna), as part of the Forum’s commitment to strengthening unity, leadership, and positive engagement within Niger State.

During the meeting, the Forum presented an Award of Recognition and Appreciation to him in honour of his role as the Legal Adviser and Patron of NSWYF, acknowledging the trust, support, guidance, and encouragement he has consistently offered to the Forum.

NSWYF sincerely appreciates the valuable words of advice, wisdom, and encouragement shared by Alh. Hon. Ibrahim Muhammed Babangida during the meeting. His counsel has further strengthened the Forum’s resolve to remain committed to its objectives and to contribute meaningfully to the development of Niger State and Nigeria at large.

The Forum equally expressed its gratitude for his continued support and confidence in the leadership and members of NSWYF. The meeting ended on a positive note, with a renewed commitment to cooperation, unity, and service to humanity.

The Executive Members of the Niger State Women and Youth Forum (NSWYF) – GASKIYA DAYA CE held an advocacy meeting with the DG Youth Affairs, Hon. Aminu Isah Danasabe (Sinking), Chanchaga Constituency, as part of the Forum’s continued grassroots engagement and mobilization in support of the APC ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

During the meeting, important discussions were held on how to effectively mobilize and enlighten women, youth, and communities to participate actively in the democratic process and make the right choice for sustainable development, progress, and a better future for Niger State and Nigeria.

As part of the meeting, NSWYF presented its APC Party Certificate, reaffirming the Forum’s commitment to representing, supporting, and promoting the good works and development programmes of the APC, while also contributing positively towards addressing challenges affecting our communities.

NSWYF believes that politics should be about service, development, unity, and improving the lives of the people. We therefore encourage women, youth, community leaders, and all well-meaning citizens to come together, support good governance, and contribute their voices and energy towards building a better Niger State and Nigeria.

Niger State Women and Youth Forum ADVOCATES FOR GREATER WOMEN AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN POLITICS

The Niger State Women and Youth Forum (NSWYF), GASKIYA DAYA CE, has continued its advocacy for greater political participation and representation of women and youths across Niger State.

As part of this commitment, the Forum paid a solidarity and advocacy visit to MAW Trade FM 97.1 Minna, where some executive officials engaged in meaningful discussions on the importance of political awareness, participation and responsible leadership.

The Forum encouraged women and youths to come forward, take an active role in politics, contribute positively to their communities and support leaders who demonstrate genuine commitment, competence and a clear vision for development.

NSWYF believes that meaningful national development requires the inclusion of women and youths in decision-making processes. The Forum will therefore continue to use advocacy, media engagement and grassroots mobilisation to promote unity, responsible citizenship and sustainable development.

DID THEY EVEN KNOW THE HISTORY OF BAGO’S POLITICS?

From Chanchaga to the Government House: A Journey of Resilience, Service, Leadership and Destiny

To truly understand the political journey, resilience and achievements of His Excellency, the Farmer Governor of Niger State, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, one must first understand where the journey began.

The story did not begin at the Government House in Minna. It began in Chanchaga, where an ambitious young politician stepped into a highly competitive political environment and dared to challenge an established political structure.

THE BEGINNING: CHANCHAGA, 2010

In 2010, Bago contested for the Chanchaga Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

At a time when the political landscape was strongly dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his emergence represented a significant political breakthrough. Against considerable expectations, Bago secured victory and announced himself as a formidable force in Niger State politics.

That victory marked the beginning of a remarkable political journey.

THREE TERMS OF REPRESENTATION

As a federal legislator, Bago understood his mandate as more than a position of honour. He approached representation as an opportunity to serve, empower and create opportunities for his constituents.

Through various initiatives, he supported empowerment programmes, employment interventions, educational opportunities, constituency development projects and human-capital initiatives, strengthening his relationship with the people he represented.

In 2015, following the political realignment and merger that gave birth to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bago contested again and secured victory.

His re-election was significant. It demonstrated that his political influence had become a sustained relationship between a representative and his constituents.
