REOPENING OLD WOUNDS OR RUNNING FROM PRESENT FAILURES?

The Saraki Movement For Positive Change (SMPC) Strongly Condemned the Act Of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq

The recent move by Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to reopen the 2018 Offa robbery case and attempt to draw a link to our principal and leader Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is nothing short of a calculated political distraction. Nigerians will recall that this same matter was thoroughly investigated in the past, and no credible evidence was established to indict Dr. Saraki. Dragging his name once again into a settled issue exposes a troubling pattern of desperation rather than a genuine pursuit of justice.

It must be clearly stated that Dr. Saraki’s record of public service, leadership, and commitment to Kwara State remains intact and unblemished by these recycled allegations. The attempt to weaponize an already exhausted case only diminishes the seriousness of governance and undermines public trust in institutions. Rather than chasing shadows, the Governor should respect due process and refrain from politicizing sensitive security matters for personal or electoral gain.

More importantly, the people of Kwara State are not blind to the pressing challenges they face daily under the current administration. Insecurity and banditry continue to threaten lives and livelihoods, unemployment is on the rise, and meaningful government empowerment programs are glaringly absent. These are the real issues demanding urgent attention not a return to politically motivated narratives that offer no solutions to the suffering of the people.

As the political landscape evolves, it is becoming increasingly evident that the days of this administration are numbered. Kwarans are yearning for leadership that prioritizes their welfare, security, and economic growth. The Governor would do well to focus on addressing his administration’s shortcomings rather than engaging in diversionary tactics. Accountability cannot be avoided, and the future will ultimately reflect the choices made today.

Another Set of Saraki Umrah Pilgrimage Beneficiaries Lands in Saudi Arabia

Another batch of beneficiaries sponsored by the former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has arrived in Medina, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to perform the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah, as part of the ongoing spiritual exercise in the closing days of the holy month of Ramadan.

The latest group of pilgrims joins earlier beneficiaries who had arrived ahead of them and have been observing prayers and other rites in the holy cities of Medina and Makkah, where millions of Muslims from around the world have gathered for the spiritually significant last ten days of Ramadan.

The newly arrived pilgrims have since begun preparations to undertake the Umrah rites while participating in nightly prayers and supplications at the sacred sites.

Some members of the group, who spoke shortly after their arrival, expressed profound gratitude to the former Senate President and Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, describing the opportunity as a rare privilege that will remain memorable for the rest of their lives.

According to them, performing the pilgrimage during the final days of Ramadan — a period believed by many Muslims to contain the blessed Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power) — carries immense spiritual significance.

“We are deeply grateful for this opportunity. Being able to witness the last days of Ramadan in the holy land and perform Umrah is a blessing. We continue to pray that Almighty Allah rewards Dr Saraki abundantly for this kindness,” one of the beneficiaries said.

Speaking on the development, the Press Officer on Local Matters in the Saraki Media Office, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, said the latest set of beneficiaries is led by Imam Sheikh Abdulrasaq Aduagba, adding that their arrival forms part of the broader arrangement to ensure that more deserving Kwarans benefit from the spiritual exercise.

He explained that while the new batch was arriving in Medina, the earlier contingent of pilgrims had already begun their movement to Makkah for the continuation of their spiritual journey and the performance of the Umrah rites.

Abdulqadir further noted that, like the earlier batch, the new beneficiaries were selected from different segments of society, including Islamic scholars, community leaders, youth representatives and members of various religious and social groups across the state.

Observers say the arrival of the new batch further highlights what many describe as Saraki’s continued commitment to supporting religious devotion and community welfare, especially during important periods in the Islamic calendar.

For the beneficiaries, the opportunity goes beyond the journey itself; it represents a moment of deep spiritual reflection and gratitude — one they believe will remain a lasting memory of generosity associated with the Saraki family.

SMPC Mourns the Transition of a Titan: Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Saliu Al-Fulani, OON

The the entire community of the Saraki Movement for Positive Change (SMPC) express our profound grief and heartfelt condolences on the passing of the eminent scholar and elder statesman, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Saliu Al-Fulani, OON.
Sheikh Bashir was more than just a religious leader; he was a beacon of wisdom, a custodian of Islamic heritage, and a tireless advocate for peace and national unity. His calm ways was a testament to his lifelong dedication to the moral and spiritual upliftment of our society.

At SMPC, we remember him as a pillar of support whose counsel was as deep as it was compassionate to the Muslim ummah. His departure leaves a vacuum in the scholarly world that will be difficult to fill. However, we take solace in the exemplary life he lived and the thousands of lives he transformed through his teachings.

We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus and provides his family, his students, and the entire Ummah the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

His death marks the end of an era, but his teachings on humility, service, and devotion to Allah will live on in our hearts.
We pray that Allah (SWT) comforts his family and grants him eternal rest in the highest gardens of Paradise.

I received the news of the passing of the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Salihu, with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss. He was an institution whose life was defined by scholarship, devotion to Allah (SWT), and selfless service to the Ummah.

He served diligently as the spiritual head of Ilorin and as Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Ulama, Alfas and Imams, guiding generations with wisdom, clarity, and humility.

From the pulpit, his sonorous voice consistently called the faithful to righteousness, peace, discipline, and communal harmony. His sermons and teachings further strengthened Ilorin’s historic reputation as a bastion of Islamic theology, jurisprudence, moderation, and intellectual excellence.

A worthy heir to a noble lineage of Islamic scholarship, Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Salihu embodied the finest values of Ilorin’s spiritual heritage. His life reflected piety, loyalty, diligence, and a deep respect for knowledge.

Beyond his role as Chief Imam, he was a teacher, mentor, and father-figure to many, shaping minds and character through learning and exemplary conduct. His leadership fostered unity within the Ilorin Emirate and strengthened the harmonious relationship between the Emirate Council and the Islamic community.

On a personal level, I will never forget the father-and-son relationship we shared. His prayers, counsel, and moral support during critical moments in my public service remain unforgettable.

My family and I, like my late father, Oloye (Dr.) Abubakar Olusola Saraki, held him in the highest esteem for his integrity and unwavering commitment to the Ummah.

As we mourn this great loss, I urge the Ilorin Emirate and the Muslim Ummah to take solace in the enduring legacy he leaves behind—a life devoted to Allah (SWT), service to humanity, and the nurturing of future generations. His works and teachings will continue to inspire generations yet unborn.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; the immediate family of the late Chief Imam; the Council of Ulama, Alfas, and Imams in Kwara State and beyond; and the entire people of the Ilorin Emirate.

I pray Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the departed scholar, accept his decades of service as acts of ibadah, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort the Ilorin Emirate, his family, and the entire Muslim Ummah. Ameen.
