We’ve noticed that some people have been pronouncing the name of our foundation differently, so we thought we’d clear that up😊

Just as we shared what FEWI stands for, we also want to make sure you know exactly how to pronounce it.

It’s pronounced F-E-W-I, with the "E" sounding like the “e” in egg.

Slide over and let’s pronounce it together! 👉🏽

Have you been saying it right all along? Let us know in the comments. ☺️

At FEWI Foundation, we recently had to make the difficult decision to withdraw the selection of two previously announced beneficiaries after confirming that they did not meet a core eligibility requirement of our SME Grant: that this must be the recipient’s first-ever business grant.

We remained committed to that standard because our mission is built around creating genuine FIRST experiences.

However, withdrawing their selection did not erase the effort, time and vulnerability they had invested in sharing their businesses with us. We therefore chose to appreciate both businesses with a token of support, while also extending the same gesture to our very first applicant, whom we had previously committed to recognising for taking that first step with us.

The grant decision remained unchanged. The eligibility requirement remained unchanged. But we were reminded that standing by our principles and extending grace do not have to be opposites.

These receipts are shared in keeping with our commitment to transparency and accountability.

Above all, we hope to build a Foundation where even difficult decisions are handled with dignity and love.

“Let all that you do be done in love.”

Following a careful verification and due diligence process, we have concluded our review of the initially announced beneficiaries.

During our review, the beneficiaries we initially announced honestly confirmed that they had previously received business grants and we sincerely appreciate their transparency.

As this does not meet one of the core eligibility criteria for the FEWI Foundation SME Grant (First Edition), stating that beneficiaries “must never have received a business grant”, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw their selection.

While this was not an easy decision, remaining faithful to our mission of creating genuine first experiences requires us to apply our criteria fairly and consistently. We thank them for their understanding and wish them continued success in their businesses.

For the avoidance of doubt and for future reference:

At FEWI Foundation, FIRST means FIRST.

The principle of “first” is not determined by when an opportunity was previously received or how much was received. Whether it was one year ago, five years ago, or ten years ago and regardless of the value or size of the support, if an individual has previously received the same opportunity being offered by FEWI Foundation, they do not qualify for that particular first-experience initiative.

FEWI Foundation reserves the right to ensure that all its programmes and initiatives remain aligned with its mission and published eligibility criteria.

Following the completion of our verification process, we are pleased to announce the *final beneficiaries* of the *2026 FEWI Foundation SME Grant (First Edition) in no particular order:

🏆 Loveit Farms & Foods

🏆 Branded by the holyghost concepts

🏆House of Anu

Congratulations to our final beneficiaries! 🎊 🎈🎉

Our team will reach out to you individually in the next 24 hours with the next steps.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who applied for this grant and thank our community for your patience, understanding and support throughout this process.

FEWI Foundation remains committed to transparency, fairness, and creating meaningful first-time opportunities that align with our mission.

Congratulations once again Fashi

Following the announcement of our SME Grant beneficiaries yesterday, we have received a significant number of messages from members of the public, including fellow small business owners, raising concerns about the eligibility of some selected beneficiaries.

At FEWI Foundation, our mission is to create FIRST experiences. As clearly stated in our eligibility criteria, this grant is exclusively for businesses and individuals who have never received a business grant before, regardless of the amount or organization.

We have received supporting evidence suggesting that some of our announced beneficiaries may have previously benefited from grant funding. In the interest of fairness and transparency, we have reached out to the affected beneficiaries and are currently reviewing and verifying the information presented to us.

We kindly ask for your patience as this process is completed. Within the next 48 hours, we will provide an official update. If the concerns are proven to be unfounded, the current beneficiaries will remain. However, if the evidence confirms that our eligibility criteria were not met, the affected beneficiaries will be disqualified and replacement beneficiaries will be announced.

Transparency is one of our core values, and we remain committed to ensuring that every decision reflects the integrity and mission of FEWI Foundation.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued trust.

Today, we celebrate courage, vision and the beauty of new beginnings.

When we opened applications for the FEWI Foundation SME Grant (First Edition), 35 entrepreneurs trusted us with their dreams. Every application represented years of hard work, resilience, hope and the desire to build something meaningful.

After a thorough review conducted by an independent selection body to ensure fairness and transparency, we are excited to officially announce our beneficiaries.

To our winners, Congratulations!!! 🎊🎉🎈 We pray this grant becomes more to you than financial support. May it create momentum, open new doors and become part of your business story for years to come.

Our team will contact all beneficiaries privately on or before the close of business on Monday, August 3rd, to begin disbursement process.

While we could only select three beneficiaries this time, we encourage every applicant not to be discouraged. Keep building, learning, improving and pursuing your business goals with confidence. Your application reflects qualities worth celebrating.

At FEWI Foundation, we are committed to fairness, integrity, transparency and equal opportunity. As a foundation inspired by the love of Christ, we believe every applicant deserves an equal chance to be assessed solely on the strength of their application.

To uphold this standard, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy against private lobbying or attempts to influence our selection process. Unfortunately, a few applicants were disqualified after repeatedly reaching out privately via our email to seek special consideration, despite the application guidelines and evaluation criteria being clearly communicated in our public announcement.

We remain committed to ensuring that no applicant receives an unfair advantage over another.

We have more projects, opportunities and business support initiatives planned and we encourage you to stay connected with us so you don’t miss future opportunities.

Congratulations once again to our winners! 🥇 🥈 🥉

We left someone a surprise on the last slide!

Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈

Application for the FEWI Foundation First SME Grant is now officially CLOSED!

Thank you to every entrepreneur who took the bold step to apply by sharing their video applications. We truly appreciate the time and effort you put into your video submissions. Your willingness to apply shows your passion and commitment to growing your businesses, and we are inspired by that.

We received over 31 video applications, and our team is now carefully reviewing each one to ensure a fair selection process. At the end of the review, the top three eligible applicants* will be selected.

Due to the high volume of applications we have received, we will no longer be announcing the successful applicants on 25th July as originally planned. The announcement has been rescheduled to 1st August to give our review team sufficient time to carefully assess all applications and select the most eligible participants.

In the meantime, please stay on standby and be available in case we need any additional documents, clarifications, or further information from you during the review process.

Keep following our social media pages for updates and the next steps in the selection process.

Thank you once again and we wish every applicant the very best!

It was a surreal experience for us at FEWI Foundation as we gifted our very first car.

This was a first experience for both Fewi Foundation and our beneficiary, Right Reverend Daniel Ben Udo of Holy Ghost Apostolic Grace Redemption Ministries.

He has served faithfully in this local church for many years, dedicating his time, his energy and his life to the work of God. On the occasion of his ordination as the new General Overseer, our founder, who grew up in this local church, felt it was only fitting to honour a man who has poured so much into God’s people.

In today’s world, serving God may look glamorous, but we believe it is a privilege to honour the fathers who made the sacrifices long before the applause came. The men who served when there was no glamour, no cameras and no recognition, simply because they loved God and were committed to His calling.

These are the people who encouraged us, prayed for us and laid the foundations for many of us to stand on today.

It is our prayer that this gift not only makes the work of ministry a little easier, but also serves as a reminder that God sees every labour of love. He never forgets those who faithfully serve Him, and in His own time, He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Congratulations once again, Right Reverend Daniel Ben Udo. May this new season be filled with greater grace, strength and impact.

Many small businesses are built on long days, countless sacrifices and the determination to keep showing up, even when the odds seem overwhelming.

Through the FEWI Foundation SME Support Project, we hope to ease that journey for three business owners by providing a ₦1,000,000 grant to each business.

If you intend to apply, please read through the carousel and note the following important points:

• This opportunity is open only to businesses that have never received a grant or business funding from NGO, corporate organisation, or government programme.

•Your CAC documents would be requested for confirmation if selected.

• Your three-minutes application video tagging Fewi Foundation, should be shared publicly across your Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. Your video must specify the following:

1. Whether you operate online, physically, or both.
2.How the ₦1,000,000 grant will be used, in details(We encourage applicants to provide clear, realistic and well thought out plans)
