TFP LTD Commissions Major Community Projects, Awards Scholarships in Ika, Kogi State
TFP LTD, through its subsidiary TFP Care Foundation, has commissioned a series of landmark community development projects in Ika, Ankpa Local Government Area, Kogi State.
The commissioning ceremony, held on February 14, attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, industry stakeholders, and community leaders, marking a significant milestone in the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts within its host community.
The newly inaugurated projects include:
1. Solar-powered street lights to enhance security and nighttime economic activities
2. A solar borehole to provide sustainable access to clean water
3. Construction of a new Grade II Area Court
4. Complete renovation and upgrading of the Primary Health Centre
5. 3 day free healthcare outreach programme for the people.
Residents described the projects as life-changing, noting that they address long-standing challenges in healthcare access, water supply, security, and justice delivery.
Fully Funded University Scholarship Programme for 10 Youths from Ika Community.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of fully funded university scholarships to ten students from Ika. The scholarship scheme will support the beneficiaries throughout their undergraduate studies, covering their education from 100 Level through 400 Level, subject to academic progress.
The initiative is aimed at empowering local youths and investing in the future human capital of the community in particular and the country at large.
High-Profile Attendance
The ceremony drew a distinguished audience, including representatives of the Kogi State Government, with the Governor represented by the Chairman of Ankpa Local Government. Traditional leadership was strongly represented by the Ejeh of Ankpa, with his councils of chiefs and elders from Ika. Also present were representatives of mining companies operating in the area and key stakeholders from the mining industry, underscoring the importance of collaboration between industry players and host communities.
