❤️ LOVE MUST BE REAL AMONG US — 1MASDF
We are not waiting for someone else to come and build Akwa-Ibom for us.
We will use every lawful opportunity, every skill, every connection, every idea and every available platform to support one another and contribute to the growth of our people.
We must begin to see ourselves differently.
One of the greatest challenges among us is that sometimes, an Akwa-Ibom brother or sister can see another brother or sister with genuine ability, talent, vision and determination to succeed — yet choose not to support, encourage or even acknowledge that person.
Why?
Is it because we are not from the same family?
Is it because we did not grow up in the same compound?
Is it because their success may make us uncomfortable?
My brother, my sister, love is bigger than that.
Love is not only when I need you or when you are directly related to me.
Love is seeing value in another person.
Love is recognising ability.
Love is supporting a good idea because it can benefit our people.
Love is recommending your brother or sister when they deserve an opportunity.
Love is being sincere, even when nobody is watching.
Think about the greatest example of love we know as Christians: Jesus Christ gave His life for us.
Was it easy for God to give His only Son for people who had done nothing to deserve such sacrifice?
And if love can bring people from different families together in marriage, allowing us to love and happily live with the sons and daughters of other families, why can't that same love unite us as a people?
My brother, my sister, the time has come for us to value ourselves.
Let us value what we are building.
Let us stop saying:
"Let me see where it will end."
"Maybe later."
"I don't know what I will gain."
"Let someone else do it."
"I will join when everything is already working."
Excuses, procrastination and unnecessary delay will not stop the journey.
They can only stop you from being part of it.
Because the day you finally decide to join may be the day your contribution is needed the most — but by then, the opportunity to make a difference may have already passed.
As the saying goes, ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
But in this case, my brother and my sister, you already know.
You know what we are trying to build.
You know that 1MASDF is about connecting Akwa-Ibomites, strengthening relationships, supporting one another, creating opportunities and encouraging our people to rise together.
So let us not wait until we need one another before we learn to love one another.
Let love come first.
Let unity come first.
Let sincerity come first.
Let support come first.
Because when an Akwa-Ibom son or daughter rises, our people rise.
When one of us succeeds, it should not become a reason for jealousy.
It should become a reason for celebration.
When one of us has an idea, let us help it grow.
When one of us has a genuine ability, let us give that ability room to serve our people.
When one of us is struggling, let us not laugh.
Let us reach out.
This is the spirit of ONE MILLION AKWA-IBOM SONS AND DAUGHTERS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION [1MASDF.]

One Vision.
One 1MASDF.
Let us build the kind of Akwa-Ibom where our children will not have to leave home before discovering that their own people believe in them.
Love must not only be spoken.
Love must be demonstrated.
Love must be seen.
Love must be lived.
May God Almighty bless every son and daughter of Akwa-Ibom, strengthen our unity, remove hatred from our hearts, and give us the wisdom to recognise that we need one another more than we realise.
