FROM THE SCREEN TO PUBLIC SERVICE

For Rachael Okonkwo, better known as ''Nkoli Nwa Nsukka'', a new chapter has begun.

The Nollywood actress has been named the Governor of Enugu State's Senior Special Assistant on Film and Creative Industry Development.
This is not just an appointment. It is a chance to use the creative industry's skills for public service and support the development of a sector that protects our culture, communicates our history, and gives young people possibilities.

This new role puts the actress, whose career has brought her to audiences in Nigeria and beyond, in a position to help advance the industry in which she has spent years.

Movies are more than just entertainment.
Movies are more than just amusement.
It's narrative.
Culture is what it is.
Identity is what it is.
It's the past.
It's an industry.

Additionally, Enugu has a deep and significant connection to Igbo narrative and Nigerian cinema.

Rachael Okonkwo, congratulations! 👏🏽

May this new position lead to more possibilities for young creatives in Enugu and beyond, including performers, writers, producers, and filmmakers.

Our narratives are important.
Our culture is important.
Our artists are important.
