During the Annual General Meeting, state executives of IDEA Nigeria paid a condolence visit to the family of our beloved colleague late Barr. Sedoo Saater Kumaga.

The visit was a moment of reflection, solidarity, and respect, as we stood with the family to honour her memory and extend our heartfelt condolences. It reminded us that beyond our work and structures, we remain a community bound by compassion, shared values, and mutual support.

We continue to keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.

The IDEA Nigeria Annual General Meeting (AGM) commenced on Tuesday, 17th of December 2025, and was successfully concluded today. The meeting provided a platform to review the organization’s growth, achievements and challenges over the past year.

State executives from Abia, Bauchi, Edo, Enugu, Benue, Osun, Ogun, Taraba, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Niger, and Kaduna were in attendance and participated in structured discussions focused on strengthening the organisation and advancing its mission.

Key outcomes of the meeting included amendments to the organisation’s constitution and the appointment of a new woman leader, reflecting IDEA Nigeria’s commitment to strong governance and inclusive leadership.

The AGM concluded with renewed alignment, shared responsibility, and a clear focus on the work ahead.

Yesterday marked the conclusion of the four-day Rights in Action workshop themed "Voices in Motion: Co-Creation Lab for Inclusive Advocacy and Organisational Growth."

The Co-Creation Project is a vital component of the Rights in Action initiative, jointly implemented by the Inclusive Friends Association (IFA) and Disability Inclusion Nigeria with support from CBM Global Disability Inclusion and funding from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

At its core, the project aims to promote accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring that the voices of underrepresented persons with disabilities are not only heard but actively shape advocacy and organisational development.

The workshop yielded so much knowledge, information and useful insights on inclusivity and accessibility, a key takeaway would be the words of one of our facilitators on the final day;

"While you are still alive, your creation has not come to an end. You may not have a disability today, but you might have it tomorrow. So try to make the life of a person who has a disability easier."

Those words were a gentle reminder that inclusion is everyone's responsibility. We all have a role to play in creating a world that is accessible, empathetic, and just for everyone.
