The shadows of exploitation thrive in silence. Conversations create change.

Join us for this month’s Let’s Chat as we explore the realities of human trafficking and its disproportionate impact on women and girls.

Our guest speaker, Elsie Winimi Kusaah, Gender Advisor (Ghana), will lead an insightful conversation on “Shadows of Exploitation: Human Trafficking and the Female Burden.”

Standing Together Against Human Trafficking

Tabitha Empowerment Centre was honoured to join government agencies, civil society organisations, and development partners at the private screening of Innocence for Sale, an anti-human trafficking documentary by NACAT.

Represented by our Advocacy Officer/In-house Lawyer and Advocacy Personnel, we engaged in critical conversations on survivor protection, prevention, and the urgent need for stronger community awareness.

During the interactive session, we highlighted key recommendations, including inclusive communication for persons with disabilities, translation of awareness materials into local languages, targeted sensitisation for vulnerable communities, and strengthening the family unit as the first line of protection against exploitation.

Human trafficking thrives on misinformation, vulnerability, and silence. Ending it requires collective action, stronger partnerships, and sustained awareness.

Tabitha Empowerment Centre remains committed to working with stakeholders to build safe, informed, and resilient communities where every person is protected from exploitation.

Today, we celebrate the resilience, brilliance, leadership, and contributions of women and girls of African descent across the world.

Tabitha Empowerment Centre was represented by its Communications Lead at the Service Providers Accountability Resource Committee (SPARC) stakeholders’ meeting on the 2025 Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act (VAPP) Implementation Report.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders to review emerging trends, challenges, and recommendations for strengthening the implementation of the VAPP Act across Nigeria. It also highlighted the vital role of civil society organisations in advancing survivor-centred justice, improving accountability, and informing national policy.

At Tabitha Empowerment Centre, we remain committed to contributing to policies and partnerships that strengthen access to justice and protect the rights of survivors.
