*No Girl Should Bleed in Silence: Embracing the Girl Child Initiative Takes Menstrual Hygiene Advocacy to IDP Camp.*

For many girls and women living in displacement camps, access to sanitary products, menstrual health education, and basic healthcare remains a daily challenge. Yet menstruation does not stop because of poverty, conflict, or displacement.

To mark World Menstrual Hygiene Day, *Embracing the Girl Child Initiative* stepped into one of these vulnerable communities with a simple but powerful message: every girl deserves dignity, knowledge, and support.

Through menstrual hygiene education, the distribution of sanitary pads, postnatal supplies for nursing mothers, and feeding support for families, the outreach brought practical assistance to women and girls residing in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp.

The outreach programme served as a reminder that menstrual health is a matter of human dignity, and that no girl should be left behind simply because of her circumstances.

Embracing The Girl Child Initiative is a registered non-governmental organization in Nigeria, working in partnership with LinkedLegal Attorneys to provide legal representation and support for victims of domestic abuse and sexual-based violence.

Since 2019, we have carried out impactful outreaches focused on menstrual education, reaching thousands of secondary school girls and young women across Nigeria through our school and street outreach programs.

Period poverty goes beyond the lack of menstrual products such as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, or reusable pads. It also includes the lack of access to proper information, education, and awareness. This is the gap Embracing The Girl Child Initiative is committed to bridging.

The free sanitary pads distributed after each learning session are more than just supplies — they are symbols of knowledge, dignity, and empowerment. Our hope is that every girl and young woman who receives this baton of knowledge will pass it on to her sisters, friends, and ultimately, the next generation.
