Addressing resource-based competition over land and water is essential for stabilizing regional agropastoral economies and securing local livelihoods.
Through locally owned dialogues, the SPRiNG Programme is helping farming and pastoralist communities find common ground and clear vital trade pathways:
🔷 Facilitating community-driven mediation to map and restore traditional grazing corridors across target zones.
🔷 Successfully reopened a 10-20km transhumance stock route in Jema’a LGA (Kaduna) that had been blocked and encroached upon for several years.
🔷 Establishing cooperative local structures to manage resource use and prevent future friction along migratory trade routes.
Securing these traditional corridors ensures that both agricultural and pastoral economies can prosper harmoniously without friction.
