HOW TO LIVE PURE IN A S*X- SATURATED SOCIETY// BIBLICAL STRATEGIES// CHOOSE YOUR CIRCLE
I know it is often said that no man is an island. It is said that you can’t grow into full potential in isolation. I agree we need some strategic people in our lives to reach full potential. However, I will rather be alone than surround myself with people who will not only influence me negatively but also sabotage my growth.
What you don’t understand is that the people you associate with can influence almost every aspect of your life, often without your even realizing it. This influence can be positive or negative depending on the type of individuals you choose to be in your circle. Your circle can either pull you towards s*xual purity or normalize s*xual sin.
Your biggest struggle with s*xual lust may not be your desire, it may be your circle. Whether you realize it or not, you are being influenced daily not just by what you watch, or listen to but also by the people around you.
The bible teaches in 1 Corinthians 15: 33, “Be not deceived, bad company corrupts good manners”. You can’t claim to be pursuing s*xual purity when your circle are people who s*xualize conversation, encourage compromises, dismiss boundaries, send s*xual contents, normalize po*******hy use or pressure you into risky behaviors. You can’t say you want to live pure yet you surround yourself with voices that encourage casual s*x and normalize s*xual sin.
