HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED?

Have you ever wondered what happen to children of incarcerated parents in Nigeria? Most of them if left in the hands of caregivers with limited resources, often go through hardships best imagined.

These children are innocent, not guilty. They deserve a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment, regardless of their parents' circumstances.

Every child has the right to quality education, adequate healthcare, emotional support and a stable home environment..

As an initiatives, our goal is to ensure these children are supported and their rights are respected and protected.

CAMPAIGN BACK TO SCHOOL FOR SHILOH

Shiloh, one of the teenagers benefiaciary of the HCLB intervention, has found education a tall dream since her mother's incarceration in 2024.

After her mum's detainment at Suleja Correctional Centre, her schooling got paused while she moved to her sister's location, who herself is a widow with three children.

Today, HCLB can confirm that Shiloh's mother is finally home, but freedom hasn’t erased the struggle.

Shiloh is still unable to return back to school due to lack of funds, making this news a bitter sweet development.

While her mates are in school, she spends her days learning tailoring to make herself useful.
We want to suppoet her dream to at least complete her secondary school education.
This campaign is about restoring hope, rebuilding confidence, and proving that children left behind can still rise.

We have partnered with bonafide advocator to provide mentorship and other forms of support for Shiloh since her journey into learning fashion design began in May.

We’re calling on everyone, individuals, organizations, and supporters, to help us raise funds to get Shiloh back to school, provide her with learning materials, and ease the burden on her family.

To support, Kindly donate through this link

Every kobo donated will go a long way and will be account for.
Let’s do this together.

Help Us Reach More Children

Since we started Hope for Children Left Behind, we have been using our own money to keep this going but we need to do more to keep the children's hope alive.

We have only been able to reach a few in Nasarawa and Abuja while others are in Anambra, Ebonyi, Benue, Kano, still waiting.

Waiting for support, waiting to be taken back to school and waiting to be seen and heard.

Our goal is to visit them. Listen to them. Support them in real, practical ways. But it’s beyond what we can carry on our own right now.

We are raising funds and we’re asking, from a place of sincerity.

You can support us with donations or resources, education resources, food items etc. These children have already lost their parents to the system. They shouldn't have to lose their future too.

In Memory of Dickson – A Call to Care 💔

We took a quiet pause after losing one of the children we supported in Nassarawa, Dickson Isa. He's a 15-year-old boy, living with sickle cell disease and was in JSS2

His mother has been in prison for over two years while his older sister (doubling as his caregiver) who is 25 was doing everything she could to keep him alive, keep him in school, and give him a sense of normal life.

Despite the support we were able to offer for his care, the check ups and words of encouragement, the limitations of funding reminded us just how heavy the need really is and how urgent our mission continues to be.

We carry his memory with us into this new month, with more resolve, more compassion, and a deeper commitment to every child still waiting for support.

To those reading this, we need your support to prevent more losses like his.

If you believe children deserve a chance,If you care about sickle cell warriors, If you want to make sure no child pays for a parent’s mistake, please, support us.
Share this post. Donate if you can. Connect us to partners. Help us keep the next child alive.

This is about responsibilities that can't be carried alone.

Today we joined the world to celebrate World Day Against Child Labour.
No child should be forced to grow up too soon.
Not because of poverty and not because a parent is in prison.

Let’s protect childhood, let's protect their rights.

We are a youth-led initiative doing this work because we believe these children deserve more than silence.

Now, we’re preparing to reach even more children in Anambra and Ebonyi but we can’t do it alone.

This is our invitation to stand with us because every child deserves a fair shot at life.

Watch the video and support if you can.

A new month, a renewed commitment.

We are choosing to show up again this month of June for our children, for caregivers doing their best, and for stories that deserve to be heard.

Happy New Month from all of us at Hope for Children Left Behind.💙
Together, we can make it count.

On this day, we remind ourselves and the children we are supporting that there's so much hope in us and in our existence.

No matter what life brings our way, that LIGHT and HOPE will never die.

HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY. 💙

Here's our short clip on our visit to two of our beneficiaries in Abuja.

Meet Emmanuel, a 18-year-old who just finished high school and a 15-year-old SS2 student, Shiloh, living with a caregiver (older sister) while her parents remain in custody.

We shared relief items and a moment of hope with them.

At HCLB, this is our calling, standing in the gap for children of incarcerated parents.

You can stand with us.

LEFT BEHIND. BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

When their mother went to prison, Dickson and Saviour were left in the care of their older sister, Queen, who is 25 years old.

She has been making every effort to manage Dickson's sickle cell disease, keep the family together, and keep both her siblings in school. We saw their tenacity and cry for support when we met them during our outreach.

You can be part of their story by supporting us to do more for this family.
