🌊 Flood Alert in Ogun State
The Ogun State Government has urged residents living along riverbanks and wetlands to relocate as the Ogun River is expected to overflow between October 20 and November 3.

According to the Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, the overflow will result from the controlled release of water from Oyan Dam following heavy rainfall up north.

Affected communities include Akute, Alagbole, Isheri, Magboro, Makogi, Orimerunmu, Iro, Kajola, and parts of Abeokuta such as Lafenwa, Enugada, Adedotun, Iberekodo, Akin-Olugbade, and Ago-Odo.

Residents are advised to move to higher grounds and fish farmers to harvest early to prevent losses. The government, in partnership with the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, is already dredging and clearing channels to reduce flooding.
