Summary
The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has forecast a high riverine flood risk over the next seven days in Adamawa, Lagos and Borno States.
The flood risk is attributed to rising river water levels, which may result in flooding across vulnerable floodplain communities.
The key hydrological stations currently at risk are:
Numan Station on the Benue River
Gashager Station on the Komadugu–Yobe River
A total of three states have been identified as being at risk.

Adamawa State
Affected LGAs include: Numan and Lamurde.

147 communities
49 schools
40 health facilities
6 markets
17 religious centres
Lagos State
Affected LGAs include: Agege, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Kosofe, among others.
Estimated exposure:
26 communities
9 schools
8 health facilities
6 markets
Borno State
Affected LGAs include: Gubio and Mobbar.
Estimated exposure:
680 communities

21 religious centres
Recommended Actions
Residents and authorities in the affected areas are advised to:
Relocate people, livestock and valuables from floodplains to safer, higher ground immediately.
Monitor NIHSA flood bulletins and river level updates regularly.
Pre-position relief materials, water treatment supplies and first-aid items, and prepare safe shelters.
Mobilise community early-warning volunteers.
Avoid crossing flooded roads, bridges or fast-flowing water on foot or by vehicle.
Clear drainage channels and river-mouth blockages, and avoid building or living on floodplains.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant throughout the advisory period and follow updates from NIHSA and relevant emergency management agencies.
